Billy Lehn Tipton, 59, met his Lord Sunday Jan. 4, 2004 after a long history of complications with juvenile diabetes. He was the son of late Joe Max and Addie Deakle Tipton of Mobile, Ala.
He is survived by his wife Paula, of Murfreesboro; three daughters: Cassie, of Little Rock, Ark., Jennifer (Steve) Tittel, of Misawa, Japan, and Mary, of Murfreesboro; son Paul of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and grandson John Samuel Tittel. He is also survived by two sisters, Pamela Moak, of Alabama, and Angela (Rick) Jeffers, of Georgia; and brother, James O. Tipton, of Connecticut, and nieces and nephews.
He had been employed by the Murfreesboro Police Department for the past six years.
Robert Corey Ford, 22, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in Hickman County.
Mr. Ford was born in Williamson County and made his home in Hickman County, where he was a self-employed carpenter.
Survivors include his father, Ronnie Ford of Delton, Mich.; his mother, Phyllis White Ford of Lyles; a daughter, Angelique Corner of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three brothers, Jarett Ford and Michael Ford, both of Delton, and Jessie Ford of Rapid City, S.D.; a sister, Stephanie Ford of Rapid City; his maternal grandparents, Sarah and Gilbert Newell of College Grove and John and Betty White of Franklin; and his paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Dorothy Ford of Brentwood.
Catrina S. Davis, 25, died Jan. 2, 2004 and was a resident of Nashville.
She is survived by her son Chandler Tashawn Davis; mother Mary D. Davis, of Rockvale; father Harry (LeVette) Ransom, of Eagleville; sisters Kimberly Ranson and Katria Howes, both of Murfreesboro; brothers Kevin Davis, of Rockvale, Michael Davis, of Nashville, and Jimmy Ransom, of Murfreesboro; grandmother Mary B. Davis, of Murfreesboro, and other relatives and friends.
Dorothy Gryner, 73, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004.
A native of Wynnburg, Tenn., Mrs. Gryner was a member of the Church of Christ and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was the daughter of the late James Alton and Lola Mae Burress Dyer. She also was preceded in death by brothers Cecil, William and Walter Lawrence Dyer and a sister, Eula May Dyer.

Louise Lanier Alexander, 100, of the Allisona Community of Williamson County died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, in Nashville.
Mrs. Alexander was a native of Williamson County, a daughter of the late William Corlette and Cornelia Elizabeth Lochridge Lanier. She was a retired dietitian and lifelong member of College Grove United Methodist Church. Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Brown Alexander, who died in 1973.
Survivors include a daughter, Cornelia A. Elmore of Eagleville; a son, Owen Lee Alexander of Old Hickory; two grandchildren, Leanne (Brent) Savage of Cypress, Texas, and Keith (Linda) Elmore of Beech Grove; and five great-grandchildren.
Mary Therese LeCluyse Gravagno, 75, of Rocky Glade Road in Eagleville, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003
A native of Shawnee, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Julia DeJaeger LeCluyse.
She is survived by husband Carmelo Gravagno; son Joseph Wendl, of Eagleville; daughter Rose Ann (Bryan) Klein, of Rockvale; brother William A. LeCluyse, of Lenexa, Kan.; grandson Jonathan Wendl, of Eagleville.
Mrs. Gravagno was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Clair Seniors and a homemaker.
Wayne Chaffin, 53, of Eagleville, Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Chaffin was a native of Putnam County and a son of the late Thomas Leo and Minnie Alice Hargis Chaffin. He was an automobile mechanic.
He is survived by sisters Kathleen Thomas, of Baxter, and Mildred Plants, of Franklin, Ky.; brothers Thomas Chaffin Jr., and Leo Chaffin, both of Eagleville, Tilman Chaffin, of Cookeville, Jerry Chaffin, of Double Springs, and Billy Chaffin, of Baxter.
Fount Edwards, 90, of Murfreesboro, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at home.
He was the son of the late Nat and Almedia Swaner Edwards.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Clara White Edwards, of Murfreesboro; sons Ernest Edwards, of Fort Mitchell, Ala., Robert L. Edwards, of Walter Hill, Fount Edwards Jr., of Murfreesboro, Clyde Edwards, of Rockvale, David Edwards, of La Vergne, Roger Edwards, of Murfreesboro, Donald and Joe Edwards, both of Christiana; daughters Shirley Nickens, Peggy Manus, Wanda Martin, Betty Pitts, and Sally Winfrey, all of Murfreesboro, Mildred Campbell, of Milton, and Rita Montgomery, of La Vergne; brothers Edd Edwards, of Murfreesboro, Henry Edwards, of Westmoreland, and Frank Edwards, of Leana; sister Rose Barrett, of Murfreesboro; 31 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
A native and life long resident of Rutherford County, he was a retired farmer. He was veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II. He attended the Bridge Avenue Church of Christ.
Daniel Michael Byrd, 30, of Rockvale, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at home.
He was the son of Michael Lareed and Rosalain Sullivan Byrd, of Unionville.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by wife Karen G. Byrd; sons Michael Seth Byrd, and Kyle Spencer Byrd, both of Rockvale; brothers Joseph Byrd and Joshua Byrd, both of Unionville, and Jeremai Byrd, of North Carolina; sisters Hannah Little, of Christiana, and Joy Creech, of North Carolina.
A native of Mobile, Ala., he lived in Rutherford County for the past nine years. He worked for the U.S. Army of Defense.
Jim Haynes Jordan, 84, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at his residence in the Arno Community.
Mr. Jordan was born in Williamson County, son of the late Freeman Pillow Jordan Sr. and Frances Brittain Haynes Jordan. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and on the Williamson County School Board from 1982-92. He was a welding instructor with Nashville Auto Diesel and Yates Vocational School and a Mason with the Owen Hill Lodge in College Grove for more than 50 years. Mr. Jordan was a member of College Grove Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Jordan of College Grove; two sons, James N. Jordan of Taylor, Mich., and Ronald V. Jordan of Manchester; a daughter, Nora (Riley) Sewell of College Grove; a brother, Freeman P. Jordan Jr. of Nashville; two sisters, Mary J. Hammond of Akron, Ohio, and Martha J. Gervin of Nashville; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Donald Ray Blanton, 52, of Rockvale died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
He was the son of Gladys Barrett Blanton of Murfreesboro and the late Truman Blanton and was preceded in death by brother Truman Blanton Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Williams Blanton of Rockvale; son Terry Lowe Jr. of Murfreesboro; daughters Christy (Troy) Oakley of Rockvale and Ashley Lowe of Bellvue; brothers Mike Blanton of Murfreesboro and Gene Blanton of Arkansas; sister Christine Horton Blanton; grandchildren Coleby Lee Oakley and Graci Ann Oakley; and several nieces and nephews.
A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, he retired from the Murfreesboro Fire Department as a captain after 27 years of service. He was a beloved husband, father and grandpa and was loved by all.
