Mary Frances Claybrooks was born January 15, 1942 in Triune to the late James Arthur Claybrooks and Alma Mary Sheffield Claybrooks. She was the baby of five children, two of whom preceded her in death, Lillie Mae Pitts and Susie Bell Vaughn. Mary accepted Christ under the leadership of the late Elder Henry Clay Osborne at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was a member of the choir and served on the Usher Board until her death.
Mary worked for the Lee Company for 21 years until the company relocated to another state. She also did housekeeping and cleaned office buildings.
She leaves to cherish her memory son Carlton Russell Harrison of Franklin; her dog, Amber, as she so often referred to as her little girl; a very devoted sister and brother, Annie L. Osborne of College Grove and Thomas W. Claybrooks of Nashville; aunts Eula Pearl Sheffield and Ada Claybrooks, both of Franklin, and Eva Claybrooks of Triune; two very devoted nieces and a nephew, Bainethic (Nene) Osborne, Marilyn Osborne and Phillip Osborne; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Mary had some very devoted friends who loved her, and she loved them, Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. Barker and family and Mr. and Mrs. William Hubbard and family.

John Wilson Redmond, age 65, died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Nashville. John was a native of Rutherford County. He was a former employee of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, a member of Harpeth Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Eagleville Lion’s Club. John was a decorated Army veteran having received two Purple Heart Awards for wounds received during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father Woodrow Wilson Redmond; two brothers, Jimmy Redmond and Thomas Lorance; and his step-father, Jess Lorance.
Survivors include wife Wanda Williams Redmond of Bell Buckle; daughters Jamey Redmond and Emily Redmond, both of Bell Buckle; a son Chris O’Kain of Bell Buckle; mother Irene Beasley Lorance of Murfreesboro; sisters Virginia Merriman of Shelbyville, Barbara Warrick of the Rover community, Jessie Smotherman of Eagleville, and Betty Johnson of Smyrna; brothers Herbert Redmond of Murfreesboro and Larry Redmond of the Rover community; grandchildren Acoei Richardson and Jordan Wilson Redmond.

Robert Edward "Bob" Blackwell, age 78, of the Holt's Corner community of Rutherford County passed away at home Monday, May 1, 2006, after an extended illness.
He was born on December 17, 1927 to the late Milton Thomas Blackwell Sr. and Annie Mary Brittain Blackwell and was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Mr. Blackwell was also preceded in death by special first cousins, Lillian Blackwell (Rob) Stammer and Tom (Ella) Blackwell. He was a 1945 graduate of Forrest High School and assumed responsibility of his father's dairy and farm operation in Rutherford County where he actively farmed for more than 60 years. Mr. Blackwell had a special place in his heart for children. He will always be remembered for his wit, good sense of humor and loving devotion to family and friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Louise Haynes Blackwell, and daughter Marianne Haynes Blackwell, both of Holt's Corner. He is also survived by brother Milton T. (Nita) Blackwell Jr. of Chapel Hill and special cousin Embree (Jean) Blackwell Sr. of College Grove. Mr. Blackwell adored all of his nieces, nephews and cousins.

Albert Lawrence Haynes, age 67, of Cornersville died Monday evening, May 1, 2006, at his home.
He was born in Bedford County and was raised in Marshall County near Chapel Hill. He was the son of the late Roy Houston and Carrie Beatrice Plyant Haynes.
He was a 1958 graduate of Forrest High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. He was a Vietnam veteran and served his country in the U.S. Navy. After Vietnam he returned to complete his education, graduating from Martin College in Pulaski and completing his education at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
He was a member of the Cornersville Board of Mayor and Aldermen from 1973 until 1987, serving over the years as alderman, city recorder, city judge, vice mayor and, from 1980 until 1987, as mayor. He retired from Huntsville Hospital in 2003 after 35 years as a medical technologist. He was a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the American Society of Medical Technologists. He was a member of the Cornersville First Baptist Church where he served as deacon, pianist and, until his recent illness, teacher of the Adult Men's Class.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Dean Haynes. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sarah Dunnivant Haynes of Cornersville; daughter Carrie Haynes (Tommy) King of Columbia; son Larry Haynes of Cornersville; brothers William H. (Frances) Haynes of Eagleville, Morris (Gerrell) Haynes of Shelbyville and John R. (Frances) Haynes of Murfreesboro; grandson Brandon Lawrence Haynes; granddaughter Gabriel Elizabeth King; and step grandson Tony Scrivner. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Buford "Dave" Chrisman, age 88, of Eagleville, died Saturday, December 20, 2008. Preceded in death by parents, Willie and Ruth Wright Chrisman; wives, Mary Susie Anna Chrisman and Ann Ralston Chrisman; and son, Carl Buford Chrisman.
He is survived by sons, Jessie (Ollie) Chrisman of Franklin and Larry (Donna) Chrisman of Lawrenceburg; daughters, Linda (Billy) Huffman of Eagleville and Sherrie (Jimmy) McGee of Rockvale; daughter-in-law, Debbie Chrisman of Eagleville; brother, Denver Hartley; 11 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

Mildred Farlow Vincion, age 94, of Eagleville, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Mrs. Vincion was born in Marshall County and was a daughter of the late Willie Thomas and Ella Mai Cole Farlow. She was retired from Stahl - Ervin Garment Co. of Shelbyville, after 20 years of service and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Rocky Glade Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Eagleville. Mrs. Vincion was very active in the Eagleville Homemakers Club, the Eagleville Senior Citizens and was a board member of the Eagleville Library. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Maynard Vincion who died in 1978; daughter, Mary Louise Vincion; and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Vincion is survived by two daughters, Alma (Larry) Hazel of Eagleville and Barbara (Charles) Bowman of Murfreesboro; two sons, Emory Vincion of Shelbyville, L.D. Vincion of Madison; three sisters, Myrtle Ring of Pottsville, Linda Duncan of Lakeland, FL and Delories Sisk of Columbia; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Daisy Halfacre, age 81, of Rockvale, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008. She was born in Cannon County and was the daughter of the late Sam and Bertha Osment Gunter.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Halfacre; daughters, Paulette Garvin of Manchester and Diane Vermillion of Louisville, Ky.; sister, Nornia Willard of Nashville; brother, Sam Bratton Gunter of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Halfacre was a member of the Baptist church and a retired Nursing Technician with the State of Tennessee.

James Robert Baxter, age 69, of Unionville passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Heritage Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, he had lived in Bedford County for the past 25 years. He was the owner/operator of Baxter’s Body Shop.
Mr. Baxter was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mattie Robinson Baxter; two sons, Ronnie and Lonnie Baxter; and one brother, Johnny Baxter. He is survived by his wife, Pat Baxter of Unionville; six sons, Mike (Jennifer) Brewer of Wartrace, Donnie (Faye) Baxter of Pelzer, SC, Jessie (Kim) Brewer of Wartrace, Robert (Missy) Baxter of Woodbury, Steve (Stephanie) Brewer of Shelbyville and Billy (Kim) Baxter of Unionville; two brothers, Gary and Jessie (Rosemary) Baxter of Murfreesboro; 30 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mary Elizabeth Steagall Taylor, age 99 of the Bethel Community, died Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was a native of Rockvale and the daughter of the late William and Cora Sutton Steagall, Sr.
She is survived by three sons, Adm. Jimmie and wife Annette Taylor of Smyrna, Rev. W. Garie Taylor of Nashville, and Judge Royce and wife Susan Taylor of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Sara Lowe of Rockvale, Sue Jones of Murfreesboro, and Jane Bennett of Rockvale; one brother, Howard Thomas of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Tracey Taylor and husband, Alexander Conde of Smyrna, Clay Taylor and wife, Dr. Wendy Rosenbek of Cowen, Shannon Davenport and husband Terry of Morristown, Cameron E. Taylor and husband Mark Woodcock of Elkins Park, PA; seven great grandchildren, Bryce Taylor, Natalie, Allyson, and Lance Davenport, Sophia Woodcock, Todd and Ty Conde. Mrs. Taylor was the wife of the late James Wilkie Taylor who died in 1995, and was preceded in death by two grandsons, Todd L. Taylor and Jimmie W. Taylor II. She was also preceded in death by brothers, William, Harry, Thomas, George, Waddey, and Jack Steagall, Grady and Charles Thomas.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church for 65 years. She retired in 1960 as a registered nurse with the Rutherford County Health Department. She was the oldest surviving alumna from the Vanderbilt School of Nursing, and was honored last year as the oldest living MTSU female basketball player.

Michael "Jason" Thompson, age 25, of Unionville died Thursday, December 4, 2008. Jason was a native of Bedford County and was a graduate of Community High School Class of 2002. He was a member of Cornerstone Assembly in Chapel Hill and was an industrial warehouseman.
Jason is survived by his mother and father, Trisha and Mike Thompson of Unionville; sister, Jessica Thompson of Unionville; son, Presten Gaige Thompson of Shelbyville; grandparents, Helen Thompson of Chapmansboro, Bobby Thompson of Charlotte, and Ruby Smotherman of Unionville. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Homer Smotherman.
