David "Bubba" Shelton, age 51, of Christiana, formerly of Eagleville, died Monday, September 1, 2008 from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. Mr. Shelton was a native of Rutherford County and was a son of the late Robert Houston "Bob" and Rachel Earlene Dalton Shelton Jr. He was a graduate of Eagleville High School Class of 1975 and was employed with Crest Cadillac of Nashville where he was a Certified GM Master Craftsman.
Mr. Shelton is survived by his sister, Debra (Garry) Lawrence of Chapel Hill; niece, Susan (Guy) Waggoner of Bowling Green, Ky.; nephew, Trey Lawrence of Chapel Hill; and two great nephews, Daniel and Dalton Waggoner, both of Bowling Green, Ky.

Marvin King, age 65, of LaVergne, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008. He was a native of Rutherford County and was preceded in death by his father, Robert King and two sisters, Mary Ann Moore and Dorothy King. He was retired from State Farm, and an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.
He is survived by his wife, Anna King; son, Ashley King and his fiancée, Jessica Swann of Smyrna; daughter, Nicole and her husband, Clark Harrell of Smyrna; grandchildren, Rebecca Carden, Reagan, Abbington, Rachel and Jeffrey Harrell; mother, Annie Lee King of College Grove; and brother, James Robert King of College Grove.

David Monroe Proctor, age 84, of Eagleville, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Mr. Proctor was born May 31, 1924 in Dillon County, S.C., a son of the late Mitchell Rembert Proctor and the late Mary Susan Hamilton Proctor. He was retired from Charter Construction Co. in Nashville as a construction superintendent. A veteran of World War II, he served on a PT boat in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mattie Jane Proctor. He is survived by two sons, David G. (Carrie) Proctor of Eagleville and Glenn (Betty) Reed of Mayfield, Kentucky; grandchildren, Elizabeth Jane and John David Proctor of Eagleville, Kelly (Terry) Zimmerman and Wendy (Bill) Fitts; one great grandson, Kyle Zimmerman; one brother, Mitchell Proctor; and two sisters, Patricia Bunch and Susie Bell.

Michael Lamb, age 41, of the Rover Community of Bedford County, died Monday, August 18, 2008 in Nashville. Mr. Lamb was born in Bedford County and was a plumber and pipefitter journeyman. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Rockvale. Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by his father, Hollis Doyle Lamb. Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Esther McClaran Lamb of the Rover Community; a daughter, Loren Lea Lamb of Unionville; son, Eric Shane Lamb of Unionville; adopted daughter, Samantha Grace Lamb of Rockvale; two sisters, Stacie Paschal of Halls Mill Community and Rebecca Teague of Rover Community; brother, Hollis Lamb of Rover Community.

Jose’ Acosta Arias, age 44, of College Grove, died Monday, August 18, 2008. Mr Arias was born in Bayamo, Oriente, Cuba and was a truck driver. He was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Mr. Arias is survived by his father and mother, Angel and Iris Acosta Arias of Cuba; two brothers, Rene Arias of Lafayette, LA and Rafael Arias of Cuba; grandmother, Victoria Ferral of Cuba.

Francis Xavier "Frank" Jones, age 83, of Rockvale died Sunday, August 17, 2008. He was a native of Boston, Mass. He was the son of the late George T. Jones and Ellen Power Jones.
He is survived by wife, Winifred R. Jones of Rockvale; children, Carol McAlister of Franklin, Anne McLead of Rockvale, Greg Jones of Murfreesboro, Virginia Ross of Florida and Elizabeth Francisco of Florida; sister, Virginia Jones of Missouri, and sister, Margaret Daniels; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Ottley Smotherman Hall, age 89, of Rockvale, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was born in Bedford County and was the daughter of the late James Alton and Mizzie Puckett Lovvorn. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Luther Smotherman who died in 1971, her second husband, Clifford Hall who died in 2006 and by her son, James Smotherman. She was a member of Cresent Church of Christ and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Hall is survived by her daughters, Thelma (C. J.) Bryant, Rockvale, Bertha Smotherman, Murfreesboro, Betty (Emmett) Bowling, Lascassas and Nancy (Fratos) Davis, Murfreesboro; son, Fred (April) Smotherman, Christiana; step daughter, Virginia (Bill) Fleming, Murfreesboro; brother, Sam Lovvorn of Washington, Ga.; sisters, Mae Lovvorn, Shelbyville and Dorothy Christopher, Winchester; 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.

Bryan Leverette, age 15, of Unionville, died Friday, August 1, 2008. He was a son of Leonard Leverette and Carolyn Gawthorp and was a student at Community High School in Unionville where he would have been a member of the incoming Freshman Class.
Survivors are his mother and step-father, Carolyn and Charles Gawthorp of Unionville; his father, Leonard Leverette of Shelbyville; a brother, Benjamin Leverette of Unionville; his maternal grandmother, Katherine Phillips of Unionville.

Irene Beasley Lorance, age 87, of Murfreesboro died Monday, July 28, 2008 in Murfreesboro. A native of Rutherford County, Mrs. Lorance was a daughter of the late Jack and Betty Sue Morgan Beasley. She was a retired supply clerk from Middle Tennessee Medical Center and a member of Mt. Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Lorance was preceded in death by three sons, John Redmond, Jimmy Redmond and Thomas Lorance.
She is survived by four daughters, Virginia Merriman of Shelbyville, Betty Johnson of Smyrna, Jessie Smotherman of Eagleville and Barbara Warrick of Chapel Hill; two sons, Herbert Redmond of Murfreesboro and Larry W. Redmond of Unionville; two sisters, Ruby Leverette and Estelle Beasley, both of Rockvale; a brother, Sammy Lee Beasley of Rockvale; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Gladys "Polly" Vanderford, age 66, of the Rover community of Bedford County, formerly of Lenori City, TN, died Saturday, July 26, 2008, in Lenoir City. Mrs. Vanderford was a daughter of the late Robert Key and Bessie Key who survives. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and was of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Glen Vanderford. Also preceding her in death were five brothers and a sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly Dawn Vanderford of the Rover community; mother, Bessie Key of Lenoir City; sisters, Barbara Rogers, Linda Lankford and Ramona Reynolds, all of Lenoir City; brothers, Bobby, Arthur and Mitchell Key, all of Lenoir City.
