Leila Mae Woodson Lynch, age 79, of Murfreesboro passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008 at her residence after an extended illness surrounded by her loving family. A native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County, she and her husband were the owners of Lynch’s Restaurant Dairy Bar in Eagleville for 22 years. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 61 years, where she taught Sunday school and was the church pianist.
Mrs. Lynch was preceded in death by her parents, James D. and Louise Farris Woodson; brothers, J. D. Woodson, Word Woodson, Leslie "Bud" Woodson and John Neely; and sisters, Margaret Sue Woodson and Mary Elizabeth Harrelson. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Billy T. Lynch Sr. of Murfreesboro; sons, Billy Lynch (Rita) of Franklin and Tony Lynch (Michelle) of Murfreesboro; daughter, Betty Gayle McCory (Cecil) of Clinton, Miss.; sisters, Emma Gloria Ralston and Louise McKnight, both of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Lynch, Scott (Allison) Lynch, Niki Lynch, James "Lyn" Lynch and Ryan Lynch; and great-grandchildren, Dillon, Denton and Dalton Lynch, Haley and Grayson Lynch and Oliver Lynch.

Jerry Wood, 66, of the Midland Community, passed away Saturday, June 07, 2008 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He was born in Rutherford County to the late Curtis and Beatrice Pinkston Wood. He retired in 1998 after 26 years of truck driving with Yellow Freight. He was a devoted husband and father and a member of the Campground Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Wood is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Dana Jean Wood. He is survived by his wife, Jean Wood of Midland; daughters, Sheila Wood King (Mark) of Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Tracy Wood Lingo (Andrew) of Smyrna; brother, Ronnie (Connie) Wood of Midland; sisters, Kathleen (Phillip) McCown of Midland and Eloise (Harold) Gaither of Midland; nephews and niece, Chad Wood, Brian Gaither, Paula Baxter and Chuck McCown.

Sarah Smotherman Bryant Robinson, of Christiana, left this life of 86 years on Monday, June 02, 2008 to attend her heavenly homecoming that God has prepared just for her. Her new home is completed and she has gone to dwell there with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, along with all her loved ones who have gone before her.
She was a native of Rutherford County. She attended Middle Tennessee State College. She was a member of Midland Heights Baptist Church in Shelbyville.
She was the daughter of the late Talmadge and Mary Rowland Smotherman. She was preceded in death by her first husband James A. Bryant, Jr. in 1980, her son Birch Bryant in 2004 and sister Mattie Lou Bragg Brock.
She is survived by her husband Dewey Robinson, two daughters, Jeraldine "Jerrie" Bryant Hester and husband Wayne of Beechgrove, Angela Bryant Sellers and husband Charles of Christiana; and daughter-in-law Patricia "Pat" Bryant of Murfreesboro; grandsons, Kelly Hester and wife Kelly Marie, Leslie Hester and wife Sherry and Troy Hester; granddaughter, Dody Sellers Vaughter; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Sarah was an avid gardener, nature lover and loved her pets dearly.

Tony Lee Simpson, age 47, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Boulevard Terrace Rehab and Nursing Center.
He was a native and life long resident of Rutherford County. He was a former Cabinet worker at Ideal Cabinet Shop and a member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Fannie Corbitt Simpson; brothers, Albert Simpson and Robert Simpson Jr.; sister, Frances Merritt.
He is survived by his brothers, Charles "Bubba" Simpson of Murfreesboro, Ricky Simpson of Unionville and Curtis Simpson of Murfreesboro; sisters, Justine Bain of Rockvale, Mildred Pitts of Murfreesboro and Vicky Carney of Murfreesboro.

Dewey Wayne Turner, age 62 of Smyrna, died Saturday, May 31, 2008 at home. He was the son of the late Finis Jackson and Dorothy Hillis Turner.

Bonnie Louise Taylor Ownby, age 77 of Rockvale, died Saturday May 24, 2008. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Alf P. and Alta Blanton Taylor, Sr.
Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Carol Ownby of Murfreesboro; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Steve Peretzman of Jacksonville, FL, Shirley and Lee Bradshaw of Richmond, VA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alf and Bess Taylor, Jr. and Walter and Patsy Taylor, both of Murfreesboro; sisters, Jean Burns of Rockvale, Peggy McPeak and Judy Taylor, both of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Karen Lyle and her husband J. Carter, Jeff Bradshaw, Sara Peretzman, Joshua Peretzman, Alicia Chilton and her husband, Chris, Bonnie Antrim and her husband, Edwin, Cassie Lee and Michael Lee; three great-grandchildren, Daemeon Antrim, J. Gavin Lyle, and AnnaMarie Chilton. Mrs. Ownby is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mrs. Ownby was a 1948 graduate of Rockvale High School and was preceded in death by sister, Josephine T. Crockett. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the MTMC ICU for their love and care.

Bobby D. Blythe "Boar hog", age 56, died at home on Friday, May 23, 2008. He was a life long resident of Lascassas. His parents were the late J. C. and Maudean Herrod Blythe; grandparents, the late Loyd and Mary Blythe and Tillie and James Herrod and brother-in-law, Johnny Timbs. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, who loved him for 34 years, Ruth A. Blythe of Lascassas; sons, Bobby D. Blythe, Jr. and wife Malisa and Shannon Blythe and wife Mandy; step-son, John Lewis and wife Jeanette; grandchildren, Skyler Blythe and Makala Blythe; step-grandchildren, John Jr. and Janet Lewis, Macey Sweeton and Kylie Easton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlene and Gerald Brawner, Judy and Jim McKnight, Lisa and Larry Garner, Sarah and Bill Beech; nephews, Jason Timbs, Jeremy McKnight and Shane Burdick; niece, Ashley Beech.
Bobby loved tractors and he was a member of the Warren County Antique Tractor Pullers Assoc. and the Eagleville Pioneer Power Assoc. He is a member of the John Deer and the Hart Parr Collectors organization and he was thrilled to be out Tractor and equipment sales. Bobby knew no strangers and he loved everyone. All were and are his dear friends.

Sandra Delffs Gentry, age 62, of Unionville, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 in Snellville, Georgia after an extended illness. Mrs. Gentry was a native of Bedford County and was a daughter of the late Cab Blakemore "C.B." and Wyna Evelyn Potts Delffs. She was the former owner and operator of Parkview Restaurant in Chapel Hill and later was employed with the Bedford County School System as bookkeeper at Community School in Unionville. Mrs. Gentry was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne Gentry, who died in August of 2007.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Robynne and Chad Templeton of Acworth, GA; sister, Dianne Sandlin of Smyrna; brother, Danny Lee Delffs of Woodbury; two grandsons, Nicholas and Noah Templeton of Acworth, GA; step-mother, Jean Delffs of College Grove.

William Lewis "Bill" Truesdell, 74, passed away April 30, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Truesdell was the co-founder of the Lascassas Volunteer Fire Department and served as Chief from 1972 to 1982. He was the founder and President of the Rutherford County Fire Department Association. Mr. Truesdell was a finalist in the Channel 5 Jefferson Award for outstanding community service. He was a former business owner of Fire Stop Fire and Safety Equipment and Truesdell Automotive. He was a retired Sgt from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department and was of the Catholic Faith.
Mr. Truesdell was preceded in death by his parents, William Lewis Truesdell, Sr. and Lillian Truesdell, and brother, Earl Litch. He is survived by his wife, Helen Truesdell of Lascassas; sons, Michael (Cheryl) Truesdell of Hudson, NH, Billy (Elizabeth) Truesdell of Brunswick, GA; daughter, Candi (Steve) McCluskey of Lascassas; 9 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Eddie, Caroline, Hannah, Amanda, Megan, Diego, Kevin, Gregory, and Brian.
