Forrest Brown Gibbs, III, 36, of Rockvale, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007. He was a sales manager and a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is preceded in death by his brother, John Gibbs. He is survived by his wife, Darcy Gibbs, children, Nicholas Kalani Gibbs, Alex Keoni Gibbs and Daniella Leigh Gibbs all of Rockvale; parents, Forrest Jr and Eunice Gibbs of Columbia; sisters, Eleanor Marie Fralix of Rockvale, Alina Leilani Gibbs of Columbia and Gina Kaunani Smith of Columbia; mother in law, Honna Rodriguez of Smyrna.

Jerry Lynn Roberson, age 60, of Smyrna died November 12, 2007, at his home. He was a native of Rutherford County and was the son of the late John and Margaret Leathers Roberson.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Council Roberson; sons, Chris Roberson, Eagleville and Michael Luffman, Smyrna; two step-sons, Robert Reed, Smyrna and Timothy Reed, Chapel Hill; daughter, Pam Wilkerson, Nashville; step-daughter, Donna Seabury, Springhill, Florida; brothers, George, Howard, Ricky and Wallace Roberson, all of Smyrna; sisters, Lois Pickel, Smyrna, Marlene Ricks, Smyrna and Cathy Sallee, Lascassas; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Christine Fenton, age 91 of Rockvale, died Friday November 9, 2007. She was a native of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and the daughter of the late William and Julia Allerd Wallingford.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie Matuszewski, Patty McClellan, Beverly Navarro, and Donna Quinn, ten grandchildren, and fourteen great- grandchildren. Mrs. Fenton was a devoted wife and mother.

Paul D. Hartley, age 76, of Shelbyville died Wednesday, November 7, 2007, in Shelbyville. Mr. Hartley was born in Eagleville and was a son of the late Ewin and Frances Rebecca Hartley. He was a former service station owner and operator in Brentwood. Mr. Hartley was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ann Bright Hartley, who died in November of 1992.
Mr. Hartley is survived by his wife, Peggy Bright Hartley of Shelbyville; two daughters, Debra Hartley Ferguson of Old Hickory and Tina Hartley Scott of Brentwood; son Paul D. Hartley of Franklin; four sisters, Janie Manier of Columbia, Eva Leathers of Rockvale and Lena Jakes and Lucy Shedd, both of Murfreesboro; four brothers, W.A. Hartley of Nashville, Leslie Hartley of Tullahoma, Johnny Hartley of Franklin and Jimmy Hartley of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Vera Lee Covington, age 96, of Rockvale died Wednesday, November 7, 2007. She was a native of Rockvale and the daughter of the late Roscoe and Lillie Pearl Wilson Covington.
She is survived by her brother, James R. Covington of Rockvale; four nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John N. Covington and Grady H. Covington.
Miss Covington was a graduate of Rockvale High School and a member of the Rockvale Church of God where she taught Sunday School for 61 years. She attended Austin Peay, George Peabody College, and received her B.S. from MTSU. She was a school teacher at Pleasant Hill, Patterson, McFadden, Smyrna, and retired after 44 years from Rockvale School in 1975.

Joseph Dwight Ferrell, age 64, of Unionville, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007 in Nashville. He was a native of Coffee County and the son of the late Joe Brewer and Dorothy Boyd Ferrell. Mr. Ferrell was a retired construction worker and a member of Unity Baptist Church in Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by a son Joseph Ferrell, Jr.
Survived by a daughter, Joanna Ferrell of Unionville; a step-daughter, Rita Holder of Gainesboro; a step-son, Dewayne Holder of Unionville; 2 sisters, Linda Bohanan of Tullahoma and Debbie Arnold of Lewisburg; life-long companion, Nannie Hill of Unionville; 2 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.

Delores Ann Dodson Rideout, age 76 of Franklin, died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Centennial Medical Center. She was a native of Spottsville, Kentucky and was the daughter of Henry Ford and Susie Sandefur Dodson.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. R. Louis Rideout Jr.; six children, Carolyn (Burland) Parris of Plano, TX, Rudy (Alexa) Rideout of Aurora, CO, Shirley (Gary) Cecil of Owensboro, KY, Charlie (Patsy) Rideout of Murfreesboro, Cathy (Greg) Ford of Eagleville, and Angela (Wayne Jr.) Thurmon of Franklin; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Rideout was preceded in death by a son, David Lehman Rideout.
Mrs. Rideout was a member of the Eagleville Baptist Church and was employed by First American Bank of Nashville for 30 years before her retirement.

Mary Frances Painter, age 88, of Murfreesboro died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at home. She was the daughter of the late James Wynder and Mary Jane Wright Crafton.
She is survived by daughter, Barbara Tidwell and husband, Eugene; sons, Buford Cecil Painter and wife, Faye, LaVergne, Donald Randolph Painter and wife, Maxine, Christiana; brother, William Morgan Crafton, Murfreesboro; sister, Eleanor Ruth Johnson, College Grove; five grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Gene Griffin, age 61, of Unionville, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007. Mr. Griffin was a native of Marshall County and was preceded in death by his father, William Griffin and mother, Dorothy Elizabeth Holton Griffin Hazel. He was a long time employee of the former Durango Boot Company of Chapel Hill.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Josephine Griffin; two daughters, Christy Robison, Shelbyville, and Janie Griffin, Unionville; son, Danny Griffin, Ft. Riley, Kansas; three sisters, Janice Buford, Thompson Station, Judy Fuller, Shelbyville, Carolyn Hazel, Lewisburg; three brothers, Jerry Hazel, Texas, Larry Hazel, Lewisburg, Ricky Hazel, Holts Corner Community; five grandchildren.

Lola Mae McCormick, age 66, of Rockvale passed away October 14, 2007. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She was a native of Decatur, Alabama and lived in Rutherford County for the past 13 years. Mrs. McCormick was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Dillard and Bernice Hazel Dillard, and one daughter, Tesa McCormick. She is survived by her husband, J. C. McCormick of Rockvale; three sons, Jay McCormick of Rockvale, Ricky McCormick of Goodlettsville and Ronney McCormick of Eagleville; one daughter, Rhonda Guest of Florida; and two brothers, Louie Dillard and Arthur Dillard. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
