Sylvia Ester Craig
(March 24, 1937 - September 21, 2011)

Sylvia Craig, 74, of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Craig was born in Nashville, to the late Rufus and Gracie Huber Bell.

She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith.

Mrs. Craig was preceded by her parents.

She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Taylor of Nashville; Sherry (Ray) Merritt of Murfreesboro; Shannon (Steve Young) Williams of Nunnelly; sons, Malcolm W. Williams, III of La Vergne; Marshall W. (Isabella) Williams of La Vergne; grandson, who she raised as her son, Chad Williams; 12 other special grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11:00am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be Monday, September 26, 2011 at 1:00pm at Springhill Cemetery.

Keith Lynn Allen
(January 22, 1956 - September 3, 2011)

Keith Lynn Allen, 55, of Gallatin, passed away Saturday, September 03, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center.

He was a native of Nashville, and a member of Luna Lane Church of Christ.

Keith is survived by his mother, Emma Delfo of Hendersonville; father, James W. Allen of Shelbyville; brothers and sisters, Mark (Sheila) Allen of Hendersonville, Melodie Coots of Lavergne, Scott W. (Alyce) Allen of Shelbyville, Tracey L. (Michelle) of Knoxville; grandfather, Earl Sparks of Deberry, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Monday, September 5, 2011 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 10 am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Flowers officiating.

Burial to follow at Smotherman Cemetery.

Family will be pallbearers.

Family asks donations be made to Smotherman Cemetery in memory of Keith.

Joyce Elaine Creamer
(September 23, 1926 - October 6, 2011)

Joyce Elaine Creamer, age 85, of Murfreesboro, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at NHC Healthcare.

Mrs. Creamer was a native of Detroit, Michigan.

She was a homemaker and a member St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Mrs. Creamer was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Edna Tarte Hallberg, son, Richard Titus, and 2 brothers.

She is survived by husband, Ronald Creamer; children, Ellen Larose of Littleton, NH; Angela Heimforth of Pellston, MI; Monica Rigsby of Atlanta, GA; Mary Smith of Murfreesboro; Jonathan Creamer of Tampa, FL; Laura Auxier of St. Petersburg, FL; 2 brothers, sister; 15 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Service will be Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Thomas "Houston" Carter, III
(February 14, 1953 - September 14, 2011)

Thomas “Houston” Carter, III, 58, of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Mr. Carter was a native and life-long resident of Rutherford County.

He was a 1972 Smyrna High School graduate.

He was a member of Church of Christ, was an avid coon hunter, and a longstanding member of the (PKC) Professional Kennel Club.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Houston Carter, Jr. and Wanda Seward Carter.

He is survived by his son, Thomas “Tommy” Houston (Angela) Carter, IV of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Thomas Davis Carter; Christian MacColgan Carter; brothers, Walter (Carol) Carter of Murfreesboro; Buford (Stacy) Carter of Murfreesboro; sisters, Faye (Kenneth) Curlee of Murfreesboro; Mai Todd of Murfreesboro; aunt, Mary Wallace of Maryville; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 12:00 pm until the Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Daryl Lewis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, family ask for donations to be made to Caris Hospice.

Bella Sophia Ozimek
(September 24, 1917 - September 14, 2011)

Bella Sophia Ozimek, 93, of Woodbury, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Stones River Hospital.

Mrs. Ozimek was born in Ipswich, MA, to the late Alexander and Helen Twarowski.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Mrs. Ozimek was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Ted Ozimek.

She is survived by her sons, Ray (Sandy) Ozimek of Woodbury; Michael (Brenda) Ozimek of West Yarmouth, MA; grandchildren, Rebecca Minter of Murfreesboro; Rachel (Louis) Lavergne of Christiana; Shawn Ozimek of Murfreesboro; great-grandchildren, Shelbi and Eli Lavergne; Jamar Mintor; and brother, Raymond Twarowski of Auburn, MA.

Memorial service to be Friday, September 16, 2011 at 10:00 am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.

Kenna Denise Cook Warren
(April 6, 1971 - September 21, 2011)

Kenna Denise Cook Warren, 40, of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at her residence.

Kenna was a native and life-long resident of Rutherford County, and was a hair dresser.

Kenna is survived by her spouse, Kenny Warren; children, Jensy Amber Cook and Jake Kendall Cook both of Murfreesboro; parents, Kenneth and Lucy Cook of Murfreesboro; siblings, Vickie Brandon of Port St. Joe, FL; Sandra (Jimmy) Jean of Murfreesboro; Sherry (Robert) Stephens of Portland, TN; Brian (Tammy) Cook of Christiana; nieces and nephews, Jessie Murry; Jonathan Brandon; Trent and Tyler Stephens; Cruz Jean; and Peyton Cook.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, September 23, 2011 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm and Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 10:00am – 11:00am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Shane Warren officiating.

Thomas Henry Lewter
(June 3, 1930 - October 8, 2011)

Thomas Henry Lewter, age 81, of Murfreesboro, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 08, 2011 at his home surrounded by his beloved wife and pets.

Mr. Lewter was a native of Taft, TN.

He was a member of Cash Point Baptist Church and attended First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Murfreesboro.

He was retired veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was a Combat Pilot in Vietnam, and recipient of Bronze Congressional Medal of Honor with Valor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Jerrells Lewter and Edna Florence Jester Lewter.

He is survived by his wife, Chelo Lewter; sons, George (Elaine) Lewter of Michigan, Thomas (Tracy) Lewter of Alabama, and Chuck Lewter of California; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Harry) Horne of Murfreesboro, Mary Ellen (David) Hatcher of Waverly, Verna Lewter Canto of Brentwood, Pamela Lewter of Taft; brothers, Bob (Doris) Lewter of Louisiana, and Aaron Lewter of Murfreesboro; beloved pets, Lancelot and Gwenevere.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, October 14, 2011, 9:00 am until Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Rev. Perry Muse officiating.

Graveside service to follow at 1:00 pm at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Air Force Aid Society, Inc., Suite 202, 241 18th Street, South, Arlington, VA 22202.

Robert Whittaker
(October 3, 1946 - January 19, 2011)

Mr. Robert H. Whittaker, 64, of Union City died 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home.

Father Robert Ponticello will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2011.

Mr. Whittaker was born October 3, 1946, in Hudson, Michigan, son of the late Robert Rex and Lorene Mae (Curtis) Whittaker.

He had served in the United States Navy and retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 33 years of service.

Mr. Whittaker was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Glen Collier of Martin; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Rob and Cindy Whittaker of Bentonville, Arkansas, John Whittaker of Martin and Blake Whittaker stationed with the United States Navy in San Diego, California; six grandchildren, his sister, Sue Hornbuckle of Paw Paw, Michigan; his half-sister, Barbara Hewitt of North Adams, Michigan; his brother, Ron Whittaker of Hudson, Michigan, and his half-brother and his wife, Lee and Pamela Ely of Hudson, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Bettis and his half-sister, Phyllis Kyser.
