Charles Mingle
May 6, 1924 - June 20, 2013
Charles Mingle, age 89, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at home.
Mr. Mingle was a native of Rutherford County, and was the son of the late, Hugh and Patsy Eunice Willard Mingle.
Mr. Mingle was a member, Elder of three different congregations the last being East Main Church of Christ, and Army veteran of World War II.
He was retired Air Frames Specialist and trained Air Force officers and Aircraft repair.
Mr. Mingle is survived by his wife of 66 years, Esther L. Siske Mingle; daughter, Marie McAnally and husband, Joe of Murfreesboro; son, Charles R. Mingle, Jr. and wife, Teresa of Murfreesboro; daughter, Patsy Barker and husband, Mark of Alabama; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dillan M. McAnally, D. Taylor Wilson, Aaron L. Barker, Charles R. Mingle, III, Brent A. Mingle, and Stephen McCluskey.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Bowker, Daryl Wilson and Deacon and Elders of East Main Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be 3:00PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Wayne Lankford officiating.
Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Visitation will be 1:00PM till 3:00PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
Marvin Harris

Mr. Marvin Lee Harris was born 56 years ago on November 15, 1947 in Winchester, Tennessee.
He was a resident of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and worked at Bridgestone Tire Manufacturing Company as a tire builder for the past 22 years.
His death was sudden and he leaves his mother, Gladys Cleo Harris; his sisters, Kaylene Hollins, Jeanette Muse and Dianne Muse to cherish his memory.
In addition, he is survived by his devoted uncle, Joe Johnson and his devoted niece, Tonya Harris.
Marvin was a very fun loving person who found it easy to talk to all kinds of people, strangers and friends alike.
In fact, he met no strangers.
His demeaner was so upbeat and jolly, that he befriended people wherever he was - be it standing in line at the bank or working alongside his beloved co-workers at Bridgestone.
Football was one of the passions that he loved to share with his friends and family.
The USC Trojans and the Tennessee Titans were his favorite teams and he tried to watch every single college game of the Trojans and every single professional game of the Titans.
Friends and family members will memorialize Marvin's life at his Memorial Service on Wednesday, October 6, 2004.
James Bomar Talbot
April 22, 1930 - June 20, 2013
Jim Talbot passed away peacefully at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
A self-proclaimed “cat person” and “car nut,” Jim lived with his friends, Danny and Cindy Ellis in Murfreesboro for the past four years, after having lived in Nashville for almost 60 years.
Jim was a graduate of Peabody College and served in Japan during the Korean War.
A confirmed bachelor, Jim enjoyed car shows and races, country music, college sports, good food and lively discussions about Hemis and Mopar.
He was a generous benefactor of numerous animal rights and support organizations and will be missed by his many friends.
At Jim’s request, no services will be held, but donations in his memory may be made in support of cat adoption and rescue to: The Cat Shoppe, 2824 Bransford Ave., Nashville, TN 37204.

Golena Robinson was born in Lebanon, Tennessee on April 1, 1926 to the late Mattie Smith and Henry Corder.
She moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and was a homemaker who had total control of her kitchen.
She was very particular about a lot of things, but especially her kitchen pots and pans.
Her children learned early on that her iron skillet should not be washed with soap and water.
Her special skillet and other cookware were used to make her delicious macaroni and cheese, various casseroles and homemade biscuits.
"Granny", as she was called by her grandchildren, liked to travel to Florida with a woman she used to work with in Mt. Juliet and she also liked to attend church.
Listening to gospel music on the radio and watching the gospel television shows were also things that she liked to do in her leisure time.
"Animal Planet" was one of her favorite television shows.
In addition to cooking, sewing was something that she was very good at doing.
In earlier years, she made church clothes and other clothing for her children and other people.
Lastly, she liked puzzles and was a solitaire and 5 Up card player.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Fredda Shaw, of Murfreesboro, TN, Schyrtese Gaines, of Murfreesboro, Louise Johnson, of Murfreesboro, Edna Tucker, of Murfreesboro and stepdaughter, Juanita Ware, of Lebanon, TN.
She is also survived by her brothers, Buford Corder, of Lebanon, TN, and Charlie Corder, of Lebanon, TN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

April 13, 1951 - June 21, 2013
David Eugene Giehl, age 62, of Murfreesboro, passed away Friday June 21, 2013.
A native of Peoria, Illinois, he is survived by his wife; Patricia Ryan Giehl, daughter; Stacey Giehl, son; Brandon Giehl, granddaughter; Mackenzie Giehl all of Murfreesboro, and his parents; Eugene and JoAnn Giehl of Illinois.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Illinois.
Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.

Carol Crouse Powell, age 84, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away June 10, 2013.

Mrs. Powell is survived by her daughter, Cindy Anderson and her husband, Jim of Birmingham, AL; son, Crouse Powell and his wife, Pam of North Potomac, MD; five grandchildren, one great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her parents, O. L. Crouse and Lelia Fitt Crouse; husband, Charley Houston Powell; and a sister, Marylee Van Sickle.
Mrs. Powell was born in the Blackman Community of Rutherford County, TN.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Murfreesboro.
Mrs. Powell was a graduate of MTSU where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in English.
She was a former secretary at Freight Line Trucking.
