William Bruce Stamps
Services for Mr. William Bruce Stamps, of Scottsville, Ky., who died Sunday are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel in Bowling Green, Ky., followed by burial in The Bowling Green Gardens.
A native of Warren, Ky., Mr. Stamps was the son of the late Raleigh Franklin Stamps and Sarah Francis Clark Stamps. He is survived by his wife, Lois Virnell Horn Stamps; five daughters, Gail Brown of Scottsville, Ky., Barbara Jones of Murfreesboro, Janet Turner of Houston, Texas, Carolyn McKinney of Rockfield, Ky. and Judy Piazza of Glasgow, Ky.; a son, David Bruce Stamps of Bowling Green; a sister, Dorothy Ainslie of Berman, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Wayne Stamps, and two granddaughters.
Mr. Stamps was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, a member of the Church of God, and a retired employee of the Pet Milk Co. and General Electric.
Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday from 3-9 p.m. at the Lovers Lane Chapel in Bowling Green.

Maurice A. Bechard
Services for Maurice A. Bechard, 80, La Vergne, who died Sunday, May 24, at Centennial Medical Center, Nashville, are set for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Jon Gary Williams will officiate.
A native of Nashua, N.H., his parents were the late Auguste and Marie Anne Jean Bechard.
He is survived by his wife, Olivette Bechard; four sons, Rodney Bechard of Nashville, Daniel Bechard of Old Hickory, Albert Bechard of Smyrna, Leo Bechard of Nolensville; two daughters, Mona Bouthillier of Hartford, Vt., Laura Ducas of Milford, N.H.; brother, Raymond Bechard of Merrimack, N.H.; six sisters, Janet Biron, Carmel Pelletier, Dora Letendre, Theresa Desjardin, Claire Polinski, all of Nashua, Jacqueline DePaola, of Reading, Pa.; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A member of La Vergne Church of Christ and a retired employee of Centronics Corp. of Hudson, N.H., he was a member of La Vergne Senior Citizens, and an honorary member of Murfreesboro Senior Citizens.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at Woodfin Chapel.

Services for Lillian K. Walls, 79, Blazer Court, Smyrna, who died at home Monday, May 25, are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ron Caldwell will officiate.
A native of Lewisburg, her parents were the late Earl and Julia Craig Ketchum.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Walls; son, Tom Walls of Mississippi; sister, Margaret Purvis of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She had attended the Church of Christ and was a homemaker.

Halies Youngblood
Services for Halies McCormack Youngblood, 88, of Blanton School Road, Woodbury, who died Sunday, May 24, at NHC Healthcare of McMinnville after an extended illness, are scheduled for 3 p.m. today in the chapel at Woodbury Funeral Home followed by burial in Leoni Cemetery with Odell Powell officiating.
A native of Cannon County, Youngblood was the son of the late G.W. and Hattie Boss Youngblood. His wife was the late Belvie Maie Foster Youngblood.
He is survived by three sons, Billy Youngblood of Woodbury, Austin Harrell of Nashville and Charlie Harrell of Woodbury; three brothers, Lonnie Youngblood, Toy Youngblood and Mayne Youngblood, all of Woodbury; two sisters, Dovie Hibdon of Woodbury and Lola Barrett of McMinnville; and five grandchildren.
He was a member of the Mt. Ararat Church of Christ and was retired from the state highway department and farming.
Visitation was held Monday.

Jerry Cecil Spry
Services for Jerry Cecil Spry, 54, of Hollow Springs Road, Bradyville, who died at home Sunday, May 24, after an extended illness, are scheduled fort 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with burial in Gilley Hill Cemetery. Howard Knox, Jr. and Odell Powell will officiate.
A native of Cannon County, he was the son of Pauline Williams Spry of the Parker Hill community and the late Cecil Spry. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Michelle Spry.
He is survived by his mother; one son, Rex Spry of the Parker Hill community; two sisters, Linda Sadler and Brenda Phillips, both of the Parker Hill community; and three granddaughters.
He was an elder at the New Hope Church of Christ, a 1992 graduate of MTSU, a retired lab technologist from the York VA Medical Center and a lab technologist at Bedford County Hospital.
Visitation was held Monday. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Hope Church of Christ building fund.

Joe Silas Ryan
Services for Joe Silas Ryan, 77, of Jones Boulevard, who died at home of cancer Monday, May 25, after an extended illness, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jennings & Ayers chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Leamon Flatt will officiate.
His parents were the late Gracy Bart Ryan and Lillian Cavender Ryan, and he was preceded in death by a son, Terry Joe Ryan.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Lynn Langford Ryan of Murfreesboro; two stepsons, Michael Leadingham, Jeffery Leadingham, both of Murfreesboro; daughter, Gayle Ryan Kilts of Nashville; three sisters, Marion Ryan of Smyrna, Imodean McBroom of Nashville, Grace Carlton of Oregon; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A veteran of the U.S. Army and former teacher at Sewart Air Force Base, Smyrna, in auto mechanics, he was retired from Tennessee Department of Highways.
Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. today at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.

Gus S. Shipley
Grave side services for Gus S. Shipley, 64, formerly of Murfreesboro, who died Saturday, May 23, after an extended illness at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, Va., are scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Perry Muse officiating.
A native of Chattanooga, he was the son of Salena Wilson Shipley of Chattanooga and the late Victor "Jack" Shipley.
He is survived by his mother; his wife, Marcia Lewis Shipley; son, Johnathan Shipley of Richmond, Va.; daughter, Victoria Reese of Richmond, Va.; and sister, Susanne Long of Chattanooga.
He was a member of the South Minster Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Va.
He was a 1952 graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School and attended MTSU. He had been a member and captain of the Chesterfield Special Police Force since 1973. He was a sales engineer with Enthone-Omi, Inc., of New Haven, Conn.
Visitation will be held from 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

A native of Washington, D.C., his father was the late Reeles Daniel Land, who died April 26.
He is survived by his mother, Catherine Land of Smyrna; two sisters, Sandra Fuentes of California, Rena Peden of Texas; brother, Danny Land of Lebanon; wife, Susan Land of Smyrna; and stepson, Travis Tipton of Smyrna.
A U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, he was a field biologist for Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel.
