Willard Leon Hunter
Services for Willard Leon Hunter, 65, La Vergne, who died Monday, July 6, at VA Medical Center, Nashville, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Juliet Funeral Home with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. The Rev. Nathan Hill will officiate.
His wife was the late Joyce Hunter. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Gail Hunter of La Vergne; and a sister, Thelma Sharp of Nashville.
A veteran of the Korean War, he was an electrician and had worked in Rutherford and Wilson counties.

Services for Edgar Aquila Bowman, 79, Burks Hollow community, who died Monday, July 6, at AdamsPlace after an extended illness, are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Jennings & Ayers chapel with burial in Thyatira Cemetery. Buford Humphrey will officiate.
He was the son of the late Edgar Alexander and Ada Mankin Bowman, and he was preceded in death by a son, Edgar Powell Bowman.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Maze Bowman of Burks Hollow; three daughters, Barbara Thompson of Nashville, Avis Wilson of Murray community, Virginia Wells of Burks Hollow; two sisters, Ruby Arnold of Donnell's Chapel, Nannie Lee Donnell of Shelbyville; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and Clyde McCord, who lived with him since 15 years old.
A member of Big Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 50 years, he was a farmer and cattle breeder. He had served as a magistrate and commissioner on Rutherford County Quarterly Court for 16 years, and was a member of the Rutherford County Board of Education for 10 years prior to his retirement in 1996.
Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.

Robert Turner Burton
Services for Robert Turner Burton, 92, Mt. Juliet, formerly of Murfreesboro, who died Tuesday, July 7, at University Medical Center in Lebanon, are set for 2 p.m. Thursday in Mt. Juliet Funeral Home with burial in Rutland Cemetery. The Rev. Donald Owens and Charles Ray will officiate.
His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed Burton of La Guardo.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Givens Burton of Murfreesboro; three sisters Edna Burton Smith of Mt. Juliet, Cora Burton Clemmons, Clara Burton Bates, both of Lebanon; two brothers, Randall Burton, and James Burton, both of Mt. Juliet.
A member of the Baptist church, he was a retired farmer and carpenter.

Earsie Meadors
Services for Mrs. Earsie Meadors, 80, Murfreesboro, who died at home Tuesday, July 7, are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Smyrna, with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville. The Rev. Carl Scarlett will officiate.
Her parents were the late Clarence Holder and Mattie Katherine Burns Holder, and her husband was Morgan Lee Meadors, who died in 1977.
She is survived by a daughter, Earline Hackney of Smyrna; three sons, Johnny Meadors, W.D. Meadors, Terry Meadors, all of Murfreesboro; sister, Sue Perry of Nashville; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A member of the Miracle Baptist Church, she was retired from the food service department at Smyrna High School, and was a homemaker. She was born in Hartsville.
Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. today at Woodfin Funeral Chapel.

Robert Dackermann Jr.
Graveside services for Robert "Buddy" Dackermann Jr., 51, of Windrow Road, Rockvale, who died of cancer at home Wednesday, July 8, after an extended illness, are set for 11 a.m. Friday in Bradley's Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Ray officiating.
His parents were the late Robert Joseph Dackermann Sr., and Catherine Carter Dunaway.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda Colleen Orr Dackermann of Rockvale; a son, Robert Joseph Dackermann III of Rockvale; a daughter, Lisa Janean Herrod of Rockvale; and four grandchildren.
A member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, he was employed as a welder at Nissan, Smyrna.
Visitation will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home before leaving for the cemetery.

Virginia Lee Smith
Services for Virginia Lee Smith, 74, Almaville community, who died Thursday, July 9, at NHC Healthcare of Murfreesboro after an extended illness, are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Milton Cemetery, Milton. The Rev. Joe Sissom will officiate.
A native of Sample, Ky., her parents were the late Paul Smith and Anna Dowell Smith.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, David Owen Smith, and an infant daughter, Jewel Dean Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Coleman J. Smith; five sons, Coleman H. Smith of Wapella, Ill., Edward E. Smith of Milton, Donald L. Smith of Fithian, Ill., William L. Smith of Almaville, the Rev. Eugene Smith of Clarksville; three daughters, Margie E. Nichols of Murfreesboro, Ema Jean Bean of Thompson's Station, Loretta L. Williams of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Cager Smith of Custer, Ky., Willis L. Smith of Stephensport, Ky.; a sister, Dorothy Early of Stephensport; 19 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
A member of the First Free Methodist Church, Smyrna, and a homemaker, she was a former employee of the MTSU grill.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Zonie Claire Dockery
Services for Mrs. Zonie Claire Hesson Dockery, 80, of 530 Sanbyrn Drive, who died Thursday, July 9, at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Jennings & Ayers Chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Murray Mathis and Dr. Tom Madden will officiate.
Her parents were the late Jodie Hesson and Betty Claridy Hesson, and her husband was the late W.R. "Red" Dockery who died in 1988.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Dockery Brewer.
She is survived by a brother, Oval Hesson of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren, Terry Brewer, Sherry Johnson, Kitty Waggoner and Mark Brewer.
A native of Macon County, she was a bookkeeper and owned her own business.
Visitation will be held 3-8 p.m. Saturday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.

Frank Walton
Services for Mr. Frank Walton, 67, who died Friday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, followed by burial in Roselawn Cemetery, with Paul Hutchinson officiating.
A native of Bolivar, he was the son of the late George and Zada McMillan Walton. He is survived by his wife, Doris Dunaway Walton; a daughter, Sallie Walton of Murfreesboro; a son, William Frank Walton of New Albany, Ind.; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Walton was the former owner and operator of Hopkins Wheel Alignment. Memorials in honor of Mr. Walton may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Visitation with the family will be held after 2 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
