Gladys Totty Russell
Services for Mrs. Gladys Totty Russell, 94, Murfreesboro, who died today, July 13, at NHC Healthcare, are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Williamsport Cemetery, Williamsport, Tenn., 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. David Huffman will officiate.
A native of Hickman County, her parents were the late David Totty and Polkie Thornton Totty, and her husband was James F. Russell Sr., who died in 1963.
She is survived by a son, James F. Russell Jr. of Williamsport; a daughter, Patricia R. Coleman of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, she was a former member of the Woman's Club, and the Senior Citizens Club.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Goldie McKnight
Services for Goldie McKnight, 75, who died Wednesday, July 8, at York VA Medical Center are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Smithfork Tabernacle, with burial in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Nashville, with the Rev. Goldie Wade officiating.
He was the son of the late Irvin and Frances McKnight.
He is survived by his wife, Delphia McKnight; four sons, Franklin McKnight of Austin, Texas, Calvin McKnight of Manchester, Jason McKnight of Lewisburg and Goldy Lincoln McKnight of Coco Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Monica Merritt of Lexington, Ky., Rebecca Veals of Murfreesboro and Mary Woodfork of Syracuse, N.Y.; a brother, James McKnight of Murfreesboro; and four sisters, Alma Wade, Artie Woods, Evelyn Watkins, and Lorene Pearcy, all of Murfreesboro.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Visitation was held from noon to 1 p.m. today at Smithfork Tabernacle.
Hellum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

George E. Cooper Jr.
Services for George Ellis Cooper Jr., 61, Bell Buckle, who died Saturday, July 11, at Harton Regional Medical Center, Tullahoma, after an extended illness, were held 3 p.m. today at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with burial in Hazel Cemetery, Bell Buckle, with full military honors. The Rev. Bobby Spencer officiated.
His father was the late George Ellis Cooper Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Nellie Adine Melton Cooper of Shelbyville; his wife, Mary Lynn Cooper of Bell Buckle; three sons, George Cooper III of Waco, Ga., Chris Cooper of Shelbyville, Tim Cooper of Bell Buckle; a daughter, Susie Cooper of Bell Buckle; a brother, Virgil Cooper of Shelbyville; three sisters, Marguerite Mallard of Shelbyville, Esther Burchell of Murfreesboro, Donna Gayle Noblitt of Shelbyville; and eight grandchildren.
A retired window clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, he was retired from the Tennessee Army National Guard after 27 years service and was a former employee of the Sunshine Transport Co. of Wartrace. A U.S. Army veteran with service in Korea, he was a member of the American Legion, Bell Buckle Volunteer Fire Department and had attended the Bell Buckle Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Bedford County Cancer Society, or to the American Diabetes Association.
Visitation was be held from 10 a.m. to service time today at the funeral home.

A member and elder of Central Church of Christ and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was retired from Genesco in 1966 as a maintenance supervisor.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 tonight and from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Her parents were the late Samuel Peter Wrather and Cora Luticia Evans Wrather, and her husband was Charles Jacob Hills, who died in 1995.
She is survived by three sons, James Donald Hills of Lakewood, Calif., John Hills of East Peoria, Ill., Charles Gary Hills of Germany; two daughters, Malissia Snedden of Peoria, Debbie Principato of Murfreesboro; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A member of Powells Chapel Baptist Church, she was a homemaker.

Cornelison, Horace Cornelison, Ruben Cornelison, all of Manchester; 37 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Nannie Childress, 82, Decherd, who died Tuesday, July 14, at Columbia Southern Medical Center, are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Mt. View A.M.E. Church with burial in Asia Cemetery, Asia community. The Rev. David Booker will officiate.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Young of Decherd; a brother, Herbert Childress of Decherd; two sisters, Jeannette March of Lewisburg, Luvenia Mockabee of Decherd; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.
The body will lie in state from noon to 1 p.m. with visitation from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the church.
The remains are at Scales & Sons Funeral Home.
