Arthur Willard Hand
Services for Arthur Willard Hand, 77, Tyne Avenue, who died at home Saturday, July 25, are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Perry Muse and the Rev. A.D. Salisbury will officiate.
A native of Cumberland Furnace, his parents were the late Leslie Hand and Julia Mallory Hand, and his wife was Joyce Gaither Hand, who died in 1994.
He is survived by a son, Thomas L. Hand of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Maribeth Sauls of Lascassas and Patti Heller of Murfreesboro; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Telephone Pioneers of America, he was retired from South Central Bell.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Marie Ostheim Martin
Graveside services for Mrs. Marie Ostheim Martin, 91, Memphis, who died there Friday, July 24 at Cordova Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, are set for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Roselawn Memorial Gardens here with M.B. Jackson officiating.
A native of Johnston, Pa., her father was the late Henry Ostheim, and her husband was George W. Martin, who died in 1983.
She is survived by a son, Robert G. Martin of Chesapeake, Va.; a daughter, Jean Martin De Frank of Memphis; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A charter member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, she held an honorary life membership in the Women of The Presbyterian Church U.S. She had lived here 46 years before moving to Memphis in 1987.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Bertha Grice Howard
Services for Mrs. Bertha Grice Howard, 79, Murfreesboro, who died today, July 27, at Boulevard Terrace Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, are set for 5 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Vicksburg City Cemetery, Vicksburg, Miss. The Rev. Archie King will officiate.
A native of Mississippi, her parents were the late Benjamin Grice and Georgia Holly Grice, and her husband was the late William C. Howard.
She is survived by a daughter, Anne Jones of Murfreesboro; and five grandchildren.
A member of the Baptist church, she was a retired receptionist and a homemaker.
Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, American Cancer Society, or to Hospice of Murfreesboro.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Merrill Booth Weddle
Memorial services for Mrs. Merrill Booth Weddle, 51, of Kingwood Drive, who died Sunday, July 26, at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christian Life Church with Ron Kairdolf officiating.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard J. Weddle of Murfreesboro; her parents, Merrill Eugene Booth and Ann Wiggins Booth of Nashville; a daughter, Jessica Paige Roberson of Murfreesboro; a brother, Paul Booth of Chattanooga; and a sister, Esther Hedrick of Nashville.
A member of the Christian Life Church and a native of Nashville, she had lived here most of her life. She was an MTSU graduate and former teacher at Roy Waldron School in La Vergne.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her church's Children's Ministry.
Visitation will be held Tuesday after the memorial service at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon L. Swafford Wood of Murfreesboro; two sons, Ethan Isaiah Wood, Jordan Takota Wood, both of Murfreesboro; parents, Luther Glenn Wood and Barbara Brown Wood, both of McMinnville; two brothers, Luther Glenn Wood Jr. of McMinnville, and Randal L. Wood of Carthage.
A member of Martin United Methodist Church, he was employed by Nissan.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 tonight at the funeral home.

A native of New Orleans, La., her parents were the late Thomas V. White and Florence Fetters White, and her husbands were the late Marion Lee Sklar and Edgar Prindle.
She is survived by three daughters, Sylvia Anderson of Chino, Calif., Nel Yvonne Sklar of Orange County, Calif., Donna Lorraine Sklar of Buena Park, Calif.; a brother, Houston White of Smyrna; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She had attended the Methodist church and was the former owner/operator of Del's General Machining & Aircraft Manufacturing Co.

His parents were the late Milledge Alexander Holley and Salonia Chatman Holley.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Holley of Murfreesboro; two brothers, John Holley of Hopewell, Va., Kenneth Holley of Orlando, Fla.; a sister, Evelyn Newman of Orlando; and one grandchild.
A member of the Methodist church and a native of Lakeland, Fla., he had lived here the past eight years. He was a former employee of Hickman County Hospital.

Services for Ellen Woods, 85, Nashville, who died Saturday, July 25, at her daughter's home in Nashville, are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Silver Springs Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Silver Springs Cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Jones will officiate.
She is survived by two daughters, Janie Smith, Pauline Phelps, both of Nashville; a son, Jim Henry Woods of Michigan; a sister, Annie Malone of Smyrna; three brothers, Ben T. Johnson of Murfreesboro, James Johnson, and Frank Johnson, both of Smyrna.
The body will lie in state from 6-7 p.m. Friday with visitation from 7-8 p.m. at the church.
The remains are at Scales & Sons Funeral Home.

Tennie Kay Eubanks
Services for Tennie Kay Lyons Eubanks, Nashville, are set for noon Saturday at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Nashville, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. James E. Henry will officiate.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Eubanks, and a daughter, Dorothy Lyons.
Survivors include six daughters, Patsy Verge of Smyrna, Becky Battle, Cocelia Eubanks, Patricia Strickland, Eva Eubanks, Tammie Smith; four sons, Willie Pinkerton, James Eubanks, Michael Eubanks, Michael Woods; five stepchildren, Marcus Ridley, Andrea Smith, Sandra Richard, Wanda Zackery, Evetta Holt; three sisters, Catherine Batey and Nora Lyons, both of Woodbury, Ann Hardaway of Michigan; 33 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.
Smith Brothers Funeral Home, Nashville, is in charge of arrangements.
