Betty Jean Crouch
Services for Mrs. Betty Jean Crouch, 65, Smyrna, who died Sunday, May 24, at Southern Hills Hospital, Nashville, are set for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Cothran Cemetery. Gary Waller will officiate.
A native of Eagleville, her parents were the late Frank and Ethel Ray Cothran.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Crouch; three sons, James Steven Crouch, Johnny Randall Crouch, Luther Kent Crouch, all of Smyrna; three daughters, Pamela Lucinda Smith of Antioch, Patricia Pulley, Lisa Jean Harris, both of Murfreesboro; four brothers, Walter Cothran, Howard Cothran, Jerry Cothran, and Joe Cothran, all of Nashville; five sisters, Kay Harris of El Paso, Texas, Ann Walker of Del Rio, Texas, June Burkes of Lubbock, Texas, Becky Carter of Nashville, Christine Binkley of Joelton; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A member of the Midland Baptist Church, she was a retired employee of Courier Printing of Smyrna.
Visitation will be held after 11 a.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Carl Ray Davis
Services for Carl Ray Davis, 74, Sparta, who died Friday, May 22, were held Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta with burial in Highland Cemetery. Dewey Howard officiated.
A native of Van Buren County, he was the son of Carroll and Lola Haston Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Shockley Davis; two daughters, Evelyn Jared of Murfreesboro and Shirley Seegraves of Lewisburg; three brothers, W.C. Davis of Spencer, Robert Davis of Spencer, and Ernest Davis of Nashville; one sister, Willene Haston of Spencer; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held Saturday.

Richard Dale Messick
Services for Richard Dale Messick, 41, Nashville, who died Saturday, May 23, are set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel of Roses, with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The Metro Fire Department chaplain will officiate.
His mother was the late Sara Messick.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Messick; two children, Amanda and Ashley Messick; father, Richard Arlen Messick of Murfreesboro; sister, Linda Dunlap; and grandmother, Amelia Messick.

Paul Franklin Bumpus
Graveside services for Paul Franklin Bumpus, 97, Regency Park Drive, who died Tuesday, May 26, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are set for 2 p.m. Thursday in Rose Hill Cemetery, Columbia, with Jim Bill McInteer officiating.
A native of Mt. Pleasant, his parents were the late John Sidney Bumpus and Annie Nichols Bumpus.
His first wife, the former Thelma Lee Wallace, died in 1941, and he later married Marie Inman in Feb. 1949.
He is survived by a daughter, Paula Heise of Smyrna; son, Doyle Franklin of Murfreesboro; and a grandson, Jamie Heise of Smyrna.
He was a member of the Forest Hills Church of Christ, Brentwood.
He was a retired district attorney general for the State of Tennessee and had served as assistant district attorney in Columbia from 1935 to 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1944 and returned to Columbia in 1944 to resume his duties as district attorney general until 1950 when he began practicing law in Nashville and served as assistant district attorney there from 1957-1966. He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1936 and had authored the book "Carmack," based on the life of U.S. Senator Edward Ward Carmack of Columbia.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home, Columbia.

Her parents were the late Edgar E., and Willie Keele McNabb.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse Eugene Morris of Murfreesboro; three daughters, Betty Sue Morris Meneses of Naperville, Ill., Brenda Morris, Linda Morris, both of Murfreesboro; and two grandchildren.
A member of East Main Church of Christ and a native of Cannon County, she had lived here most of her life. She was a beautician here and operated and owned he own shop.

Services for Mrs. Dollie Lucille Lanius, 71, Columbia, who died Wednesday, May 7, at Maury Regional Hospital after an extended illness, are set for 10 a.m. Saturday at Williams Columbia Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Nashville. The Rev. Wayne Parks will officiate.
Her parents were the late Otey and Rosie May Church McKennon.
She is survived by her husband, Ralston "Lonnie" Lanius of Columbia; three sons, William C. Lanius of Nashville, Bobby W. Lanius of Smyrna, Lonnie R. Lanius of Chapel Hill; three sisters, Evelyn Cook of Columbia, Mildred Williams of Spring Hill, Barbara Brooks of Columbia; two brothers, John McKennon, Collin McKennon, both of Columbia; and six grandchildren.
She was a member of the West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a homemaker.
Visitation will be held all day today and Friday at the funeral home.

She was employed as a bookkeeper for F.W. Means before she retired in 1997. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Iowa City.

A member of Temple Baptist Church where he was a deacon, he was a retired U.S. Air Force chief master sergeant.
