Sarah Towns Broiles
Services for Mrs. Sarah Towns Broiles, 85, Christiana, who died Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Mike Hoffman will officiate.
A native of Wilson County, her parents were the late Daniel Towns and Callie Garrett Towns, and her husband was the late Burnice Allen Broiles.
She is survived by a daughter, Shyrle Broiles of Christiana; and a brother, Earle Towns of Mt. Juliet.
A member of Millersburg Baptist Church, she was a retired cafeteria employee at Christiana Elementary School and Riverdale High School.
Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Sarah E. Gesser
Graveside services for Mrs. Sarah E. Gesser, 78, Smyrna, who died Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Peachtree Nursing Center, are set for 10:30 a.m. Friday in Woodlawn Memorial Park with Herbert Paynter officiating.
A native of Greenville, S.C., her parents were the late Walter Finch and Ellie Hill Finch, and her husband was William David Gesser, who died in 1991.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Paynter of Lawrenceville, Ga., Kitty Gilbert of Smyrna, Billie Seelye of Franklin; four sisters, Ruby Turner of Woodruff, S.C., Hazel Weidensaul of Palmyra, Pa., Evelyn Bachman of Reading, Pa., Helen Northeimer of Destin, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was a member of the Baptist church.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.

Archie Lee B. Irvin
Services for Mrs. Archie Lee Brown Irvin, Smyrna and Lakeworth, Fla. who died Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Baptist Hospital, Nashville, are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Maurice O'Neal, Roy Beasley and Gene Gilmore will officiate.
A native of Lewis County, her parents were the late Arch Brown and Leeanna Goodman Brown.
She is survived by her husband, James Milton Irvin; a daughter, Sherrye Perry of Asheville, N.C.; two sisters, Freddie Hanberry, Melba Pellerin, both of Hohenwald; and one grandchild.
A member of Sun Coast Church of Christ in Lakeworth and a homemaker, she was a student of the Bible, having taught Bible since she was 15. She had attended Peabody College in Nashville.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Woodfin Chapel.

Nita M. Heflin
Services for Mrs. Nita M. Heflin, of Gwynn Street, who died at home Wednesday, Aug. 12, are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Jennings & Ayers chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. David Huffman and the Rev. George Jones will officiate.
Her parents were the late Safford McLister and Mary Lee Smith McLister.
She is survived by her husband, J. B. Heflin of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Nita Simmons of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and a native of Shelby County, she was a secretary for Columbia Mutual Life Insurance Agency in Memphis and also a secretary to the minister of her church. She was a volunteer for the local chapter of the American Red Cross and had been awarded a 50-year service pin. She also did volunteer work at the York VA Medical Center.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.

Mildred Todd Hewgley
Services for Mildred Todd Hewgley, 81, Division Street, Smyrna, who died Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Smyrna Medical Center, are set for 3 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Ed Anderson will officiate.
Her parents were the late George Todd and Nancy Ann O'Neal Todd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Hugh Hewgley, who died in 1983, a son, Michael Wayne Hewgley, who died in 1991, and a daughter, Joyce Ann Johnson, who died in 1990.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Hewgley of Smyrna, Howard Hewgley of Marietta, Ga.; three daughters, Jennye Graham of Smyrna, Faye Culver of Kingston Springs, Janie Miller of La Vergne; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Jefferson Pike Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. today at Woodfin Chapel.

Joan L. King
Services for Joan L. King, 69, Sun City West, Ariz., who died Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Sun City West after an extended illness, are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, Anderson, Ind., with burial in Anderson Memorial Park. James Schmedel will officiate.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. King.
Survivors include two daughters, Penny J. Chaille of Sun City, Patty K. Wells of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Meghan Wells and Christopher Wells.
A member of Sun City Christian Church, Order of Eastern Star Chapter #591, and Sun City Bocci Club, she was a porcelain painter. She had retired from Citizens Banking Co. in 1984 after 14 years service.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Arizona.

Josie Neal Barbee
Services for Mrs. Josie Neal Barbee, 80, McMinnville, who died Wednesday, Aug. 12, at River Park Hospital, McMinnville, after an extended illness, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at McMinnville Funeral Home chapel with burial in Mt. View Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Case will officiate.
Her parents were the late Melvin Neal and Florence Bennett Neal.
She is survived by a son, John Larry Barbee of Murfreesboro; a sister, Pauline Prater of McMinnville; and a grandson, Brad Barbee of Murfreesboro.
A member of the First United Methodist Church, she was a retired cafeteria manager with Warren County School system.
Visitation will be held from 3-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Elizabeth J. Keefus
Services for Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Keefus, 51, of 727 Old Salem Road, who died Friday at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin of cancer are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Jennings & Ayers Chapel, followed by burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Larry Hammons officiating.
Mrs. Keefus was the daughter of Alta Grinder and the stepdaughter of Pete Grinder of Hohenwald. She is survived by her husband, Richard Keefus; a son, Robert Aaron Keefus of Nashville; two daughters, Vivian Annette Keefus and Ruhama Lynn Keefus, both of Murfreesboro; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Keefus was a native of Hohenwald and had lived in Murfreesboro for the past seven years. She was a member and an ordained minister of an Independent Pentecostal Church. Visitation with the family will be from 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.

Lillian S. Wilson
Services for Mrs. Lillian S. Wilson, 82, of Woodbury, N.J., who died Wednesday at her home are scheduled for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in Woodbury, N.J., followed by burial in Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, N.J.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by a son, Robert C. Wilson III of Stone Mountain, Ga.; a brother, Richard H. Stickney, and two grandsons, including Robert C. Wilson IV of Norfolk, Va. and Douglas B. Wilson of San Diego, Calif.
Mrs. Wilson was born and raised in Murfreesboro. She graduated from MTSU in 1940 with a degree in English, and the same year married Robert C. Wilson Jr., and moved to Woodbury, N.J., where she belonged to Christ Episcopal Church and did volunteer work in hospitals there and Philadelphia, Penn.
Memorial offerings in honor of Mrs. Wilson may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 62 Delaware St., Woodbury, N.J. 08096 or to the American Cancer Society, 1044 Mantua Pike, Wenonah, N.J. Davis Funeral Home in Woodbury, N.J., is in charge of arrangements.
