Scotty M. Tucker
Services for Scotty M. Tucker, 29, Murfreesboro, who died Monday, Aug. 17, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center from results of an auto accident, are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, with burial in Swanson Cemetery. David Young and Weldon Rickman will officiate.
His mother was Sarah Maxine Scott Tucker, who died in 1996.
He is survived by his father, Jack M. Tucker of Murfreesboro; and stepmother, Rebecca Tucker of Murfreesboro.
A member of the Antioch Church of Christ, he was a student at MTSU.
Visitation will be held after noon today at the funeral home.

Ida Mae Newton
Services for Ida Mae Newsome Newton, 81, Hollandale, Miss., who died Friday, Aug. 14, of heart failure at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville, Miss., were held 2 p.m. Sunday at Hollandale Church of God with burial in Hollandale Cemetery.
Her parents were the late Harry Dixon Newsome and Moree Cobb Newsome, and she was preceded in death by a child, Bobbie Jewel Newton.
Survivors include her husband, John Thomas Newton of Hollandale; a sister, Honor Gray Davis; four children, Billy Newton of Murfreesboro, Terry Eugene Newton of Hollandale, Sharon Privett of Gautier, Miss., John Wayne Newton of Lake Village, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Born in Thomasville, Ala., she moved to Sweetwater, Ala., then to Hollandale where she had lived since 1932. A member of Antioch Church of God, now called Hollandale Church of God, she taught in the Sunday school and served as church clerk and was in the Ladies Auxiliary. Her hobbies included cooking and gardening. She was a homemaker.
Boone-Wells Funeral Home of Greenville, Miss., was in charge of arrangements.

Ashton Taylor
Graveside services for Ashton Taylor, infant son of Alton and Thelisa Taylor of Murfreesboro, who died at birth Sunday, Aug. 16, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, were held 2 p.m. Tuesday in Evergreen Cemetery with Chris Whittaker officiating.
He is also survived by a sister, Aislyn Taylor.
Hellum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

James Ray Hill
Services for James Ray Hill, 51, Murfreesboro, who died at home Wednesday, Aug. 19, after an extended illness, are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with full military rites.
His parents were the late Guy F. Hill and Betty Winfrey Hill.
He is survived by a son, James Ray Jill Jr. of Shelbyville, a daughter, Quana Kathryn Hill of Shelbyville; three brothers, Guy W. Hill, Charles W. Hill, Jerry F. Hill of Shelbyville; two sisters, Sarah Jane Pollock of Shelbyville, Betty Jean Hill of Tullahoma; and one grandson.
An employee of the Medical Administration Services at the York VA Medical Center and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran with service in Vietnam, he was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Federation of Government Employees. He was a native of Shelbyville.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Idalee Byrn Evans
Graveside memorial services for Idalee Byrn Evans, 91, Centerville, Ohio, formerly of Murfreesboro, who died Wednesday, Aug. 12, after an extended illness, are set for Monday at Evergreen Cemetery here with the Rev. Mark Calvert-Rosenberger officiating.
Her parents were the late Charley Hall Byrn and Allie Richardson Byrn of Murfreesboro, and her husband was Eli James Evans, who died June 15, 1979.
Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Byrn Evans Rickman of Centerville; two grandsons, James Ernest Rickman of Asheville, N.C., and Charles Byrn Rickman of Atlanta, Ga.
Mrs. Evans and her husband left Murfreesboro in 1935 and lived out of state until 1978 when they returned here.
A 1924 graduate of Central High School here where she played on the girls' high school basketball team that won the Tennessee State Championship in 1924, she was a 1928 graduate of Tennessee College for Women, Murfreesboro, and taught mathematics at Central High School from 1930-1935. She had lived the past seven years as a resident of the St. Leonard Retirement Center in Centerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Linebaugh Library, or to the permanent fund at Central Christian Church here in memory of James D. Richardson, a founder of the church.

A native of Laos, his parents were the late Wee Xaysettha and Than Rathamon Xaysettha.
He is survived by his wife, Ketmany Sysouvong Rathamon; five daughters, Keovilay Rathamon, Joanna Rathamon, Bessie Rathamon, Liza Judy Rathamon, all of Murfreesboro, Kay Rathamon of California; a son, Dick Rathamon of Murfreesboro; and one grandchild.
