Jack Lewis Moore
Services for Jack Lewis Moore, 68, of Deer Drive, La Vergne, who died Monday, Sept. 14, at Smyrna Medical Center, are set for 1 p.m. Thursday at Woodbury Funeral Home chapel, Woodbury, with burial in Riverside Gardens.
His parents were the late Henry Wiley Moore and Roberta Higgins Moore, and he was preceded in death by a son, Blake Alan Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Ferrell Moore of La Vergne; three daughters, Regina Moore, Katrina McMeen, both of Smyrna, Rebecca Harbath of Marion, Wis.; two brothers, Joe Don Moore of Beloit, Wis., Henry Moore of Nashville; and eight grandchildren.
A member of La Vergne city government since 1974, he was currently serving as alderman and vice mayor and was a former mayor of the city.
He was a member and past president of the La Vergne Lions Club, La Vergne Mens Club, and American Legion and was state president of the Korean VFW. He was also a member of the La Vergne Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. today at La Vergne City Hall, and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Woodbury Funeral Home.

John Arthur Shacklett
Private graveside services for John Arthur Shacklett, 82, of Black Fox Crossing, who died Monday, Sept. 14, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. David Garth and the Rev. Herman Dam officiating.
His parents were the late Arthur C. Shacklett and Nena White Shacklett.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Jamison Shacklett of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Marsha Shacklett Ragsdale of Nashville, Judy Wells of Brentwood; two brothers, Dr. William Shacklett of Murfreesboro, Dr. Robert Shacklett of Georgia; a sister, Sara Tinsley of Georgia; and four grandchildren.
A member of Murfreesboro Kiwanis Club for 52 years and a past lieutenant governor of the Kentucky-Tennessee District, he was a salesman and had owned and operated four restaurants here. He had served as director of the first RSVP chapter for Rutherford County and was a past member of the Murfreesboro City Council. He was a court officer for the Chancery Court and a member, elder, deacon, treasurer, and Sunday school superintendent with the First Presbyterian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.

Peggy Sue Comer
Services for Peggy Sue Faulk Comer, 61, Amherst Drive, who died Sunday, Sept. 13, at Vanderbilt Medical Center, are set for 1:30 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Darryl Lewis and Jeff Adcock will officiate.
A native of Christiana, her father was the late James Robert Faulk, and she was preceded in death by a son, David Helton.
She is survived by her husband, John Comer; her mother, Kitty Lee Clark Faulk of Murfreesboro; three sons, Ricky Helton, Jeff Helton, both of Murfreesboro, Dan Helton of Eagleville; a daughter, Jennifer Baltimore of Murfreesboro; two stepsons, Allen Comer, Kent Comer, both of Murfreesboro; four brothers, Jack Faulk, Gilbert Faulk, Chester Faulk, and Bobby Faulk, all of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Shirley Garrison, Barbara Jakes, Linda Jo Billingsley, all of Murfreesboro; and seven grandchildren.
A member of Mars Hill Church of Christ, she had attended Christiana High School and was owner and manager of the VA Outpatient Home in Eagleville.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Jim Frank Nipper
Services for Jim Frank Nipper, 88, Halls Hill Pike, who died at home Tuesday, Sept. 15, are set for 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jim Thigpen, the Rev. James Clapp and the Rev. Robert Lemay will officiate.
His parents were the late Will Nipper and Willie Compton Nipper, and his wife was Viva Myers, who died in 1991.
He is survived by two daughters, Juanita Hutchins, Joyce Ewell, both of Murfreesboro; a son, Bobby Nipper of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Sam Nipper, Ben Robert Nipper, both of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Mattie Martin, Carrie Herman, Beatrice Carpenter, all of Murfreesboro; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A member and former deacon of Hillview Baptist Church, he had served with the U.S. Army in Germany and Italy during World War II. He was a retired employee of Tennessee Paving Co.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Ruby Irene Burroughs

Her husband was the late Claud W. Burroughs.

She was retired from Metro Hospital, Nashville, as administrative payroll assistant.

She is survived by three sons, Dan Jacobs, Alton Jacobs, George Heath Jr., all of Murfreesboro; a stepson, J.T. Heath of Brentwood; and a daughter, Annie Lee Taylor of Murfreesboro.
A member of Bellwood Baptist Church, she was a homemaker.

A member of the Church of Christ, he was a retired employee of Murfreesboro Electric Department.

A member of Smith Grove Church of Christ, he was a retired carpenter with the State of Tennessee at Cloverbottom Hospital.
