Roy W. Niswonger
Services for Roy W. Niswonger, 90, of River Rock Boulevard, who died Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bass-Smith Funeral Home, Hickory, N.C., with burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory. The Rev. Wallace Johnson will officiate.
He was the son of the late Otio and Bessie Wheeler Niswonger.
He is survived by a son, Richard W. Niswonger of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Mrs. Wallace Johnson; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was formerly the executive director of YMCA/USO in Washington, D.C.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Bass-Smith Funeral Home. Woodfin Memorial Chapel was in charge of local arrangements.

Jane Caryl Miller
Jane Caryl Miller, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, at AdamsPlace after a brief illness. Burial will be in Ann Arbor, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Miller, who died in 1965, and son, Charles L. Miller, who died in 1997.
She is survived by a daughter, Caryl Jane Witt; and four grandchildren, Troy L. Ploger of Murfreesboro, Ryan D. Ploger of Los Angeles, Calif., Megan L. Miller of Canton, Mich., and Darcie A. Miller of Valparaiso, Ind.
She was a student and teacher of classical ballet for over 65 years and was a charter member of the Cecchetti Council of America. She was a Fellow of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance of England.
A former resident of Ann Arbor, she had lived in Murfreesboro for two years.
Memorials may be made to the rector's discretionary fund at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Murfreesboro, or the Jane Caryl Miller Students of Dance Scholarship Fund, c/o Cecchetti Council of America, Leanne King, treasurer, P.O. Box 74. Manchester, MI 48158.

Hoyte L. Nichols
Services for Hoyte L. Nichols, 81, of the Kittrell community, who died Thursday, Oct. 8, at his home, will be 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Gardens Cemetery. Bobby Zumbro will officiate.
He was the son of the late Chalmus Francis Nichols and Vera Davenport Nichols and was the husband of the late Roberta Todd Nichols.
He is survived by a son, Michael Nichols of Murfreesboro; a brother, Carl Nichols of Woodbury; and a sister, Ruby Anderson of Woodbury.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodbury.
He was retired from General Electric with 19 years of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Murfreesboro.
Visitation was held Thursday.

Willard A. Kerr
Graveside services for Willard A. Kerr, 80, who died Wednesday, Oct. 7, at NHC Healthcare, were at 11 a.m. today at Pell Cemetery, Brockport, Ill.
He was the son of the late Arthur T. Kerr and Augusta Golightly Kerr. He was the husband of the late Eleanor Moseley Kerr.
He is survived by three children, Karen Kerr Jensen of Birmingham, Ala., Douglas Moseley Kerr of Lascassas and John Cameron Kerr of LeRoy, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
From 1967 until his retirement in 1979, he was chairman of the MTSU psychology department. Prior to coming to MTSU, he taught at Illinois Institute of Technology for 20 years. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University and Purdue University and also taught at Tulane University, Northwestern University and the University of Chicago.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of the Stones River Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, Masonic Farmers Lodge 232, Scottish Rites and the Republican Party.

Dale Jackson Taylor
Services for Mr. Dale "Dennis" Jackson Taylor, 53, of Smyrna, who died Thursday morning at St. Thomas Hospital are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Kiser Funeral Chapel in Greeneville, followed by burial in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Glenn Holt officiating.
Mr. Taylor was the son of the late Gordon and Mary Helton Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Sara Taylor; a son, Craig Taylor of Smyrna; two daughters, Tami Phillips and Brandy Taylor, both of Smyrna; a brother, Haskelle Taylor of Knoxville; two sisters, Mary Fitzgerald and Beatrice Renner, both of Greeneville; and three grandchildren.
Mr. Taylor was a member of the Moose Lodge of Smyrna. Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. at Kiser Funeral Home.

Mrs. Jane Caryl Miller, age 81, died October 7, at Adam's Place after a brief illness. She had been a resident of Murfreesboro for two years, moving here from Ann Arbor, Mich. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death in 1965 be her husband Richard C. Miller and by her son, Charles L. Miller in 1997.
She is survived by her daughter, Caryl Jane Witt; son-in-law, Terry J. Witt, M.D. of Murfreesboro; grandsons Troy L. Ploger of Murfreesboro and Ryan D. Ploger of Los Angeles, Calif.; daughter-in-law Carol Anne Miller of Canton, Mo.; granddaughters Megan L. Miller of Canton, Mo. and Darcie A. Miller of Valparaiso, Ind.
Mrs. Miller devoted more than 65 years to the study and teaching of classical ballet. She was a charter member of the Cecchetti Council of America; an organization dedicated to improving the quality of instruction for dance teachers and students and was awarded the high honor of Fellow by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance of England. She was a Fellow of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance of England.
Following cremation, burial will take place in Ann Arbor, Mich. Local arrangements handled by Woodfins. Contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church Rector's Discretionary Fund, 315 E. Alline Miller Frank
Services for Alline Miller Frank, 73, of Murfreesboro, who died Sunday, Oct. 11, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Kyle Campbell will officiate.
A Rutherford County native, she was the daughter of the late L.W. and Hassie Talley Miller and the widow of Steve Frank, who died in 1996, and was preceded in death in 1984 by a daughter, Shirley Frank Clark.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Jaco of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Annie Hoover and Margaret Hutchins, both of Murfreesboro, Tillie Bragg of Lascassas; a granddaughter, three grandsons, one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson.
She was a member of the Westview Church of Christ and a former employee of Norris Hosiery Mill and retired from Tridon Industries.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Benton M. Benson
Services for Benton M. "Bood" Benson, 85, of Murfreesboro, who died Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Tennessee Veterans Home, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Coleman Cemetery. The Rev. Wendell Francis and the Rev. George Jones will officiate.
He was the son of the late Millus and Sally Anderson Benson and was preceded in death in 1983 by his wife, Carmine B. Benson.
He is survived by a daughter, Bobbie McIntyre of Murfreesboro; a sister, Billie Johnson of Murfreesboro; a granddaughter, Joan Kellerman of Murfreesboro; a grandson, Jim McIntyre Jr. of Murfreesboro, and four great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Haynes Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired painting contractor.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
