Ben Johnson Jr.
Graveside services for Mr. Ben Howard Johnson Jr., 78, of Murfreesboro, who died Saturday, Oct. 17, at Boulevard Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. John B. Sessoms officiating.
Mr. Johnson was a native of Nashville, and was the son of the late Ben H. and Sarah Beesley Johnson.
He is survived by a sister, Margaret J. Wright of Murfreesboro; a brother, William N. Johnson of Longwood, Fla.; three nieces, and four nephews.
Mr. Johnson received a bachelor's degree from Georgia Tech, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. An aeronautics engineer and research scientist, he was employed by the National Advisory Commission on Aeronautics and its successor, the National Air and Space Administration (NASA) where he designed wind tunnel models for the space shuttle. He was later employed by Gates Learjet and McDonnell-Douglas.
Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Navy and was a lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He enjoyed an avocation as an actor and singer, appearing in many community theatre productions throughout the country.
Memorials in honor of Mr. Johnson may be made to the Support Group for Kidney Patients and their families, 1535 Foxdale Drive, Murfreesboro, 37130. Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of all arrangements.

George Nathan Miller
Services for George Nathan "Sam" Miller, 62, of 4th Avenue, who died Monday, Oct. 19, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center after an extended illness, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rucker Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Woodrow Medlock will officiate.
He is survived by a son, Bryan Miller of Terrell, Texas; a daughter, Gina Michelle McClanahan of Murfreesboro; and three grandchildren.

Margaret L. Harding
Services for Margaret L. Harding, 96, of Murfreesboro, who died Monday, Oct. 19, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, will be announced later. Burial will be in Vine Street Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ohio.
A native of Cincinnati, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Emma Ross Lodwick, and was the widow of George H. Harding, who died in 1962.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas R. Harding of Murfreesboro, James R. Harding of Miami, Fla., and George E. Harding of Pensacola, Fla.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graduate of the University of Miami, Ohio, she was a retired teacher who taught in the Philippines, Afghanistan and Columbus, Ohio.
She was a member of the Presbyterian church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of the local funeral arrangements.

Barbara A. Doyle
Services for Barbara Alline Doyle, 57, of Houston, Texas, who died Sunday, Oct. 18, at Silver Springs Care Center, Houston, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with burial in Mapleview Cemetery. Ron Caldwell will officiate.
A native of Davidson County, she was the daughter of Mary Etta Haskins of Nashville and the late Wardon Haskins.
She is survived by her mother; two sons, Louis Gene Maxwell of La Vergne and Richard Andrew Maxwell of Arlington, Texas; three daughters, Brenda Faye Hardy, Wanda Gail Goings, both of Smyrna, and Bobbie Jean Gaona of Houston, Texas; four brothers; five sisters; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Rodney N. Patton Sr.
Services for Rodney Neil Patton Sr., 43, of Alexandria, who died Sunday, Oct. 18, at Sumner Regional Medical Center, Gallatin, from a heart attack, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home, Liberty Chapel, Liberty, with burial in Hillview Cemetery, Alexandria. Bill Shaw will officiate.
He was the son of Gerldine Patton of Lexington, Ky. and the late Forest Elmer Patton Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Sowell Patton of Alexandria; one son, Rodney Patton Jr.; his mother; his grandmother, Christine Bryant of Liberty, Ky.; one brother, Forest Elmer Patton Jr. of Lexington, Ky.; and two sisters, Debbie Gukeisen of Winchester, Ky., and Stacy Patton of Lexington, Ky.
He was parts and service director at the Alexander Ford Lincoln Mercury dealership in Murfreesboro, and was a member of the DeKalb County Masonic Lodge No. 358 in Liberty.
A Masonic service for Patton is set for 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Visitation is until 10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was the daughter of the late Wiley B. and Mary Jane Taylor Rogers.
She is survived by her husband, Leo Barrett of Woodbury; a brother, Hance William Rogers of Perrysburg, Ohio; and three sisters, Hattie Smithson of Athens, Mamie Bowen and Tina Pedigo, both of Bradyville.
A housewife, she was a member of Smith Grove Church of Christ.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Woodbury Funeral Home.

Mary Riegel Roberts
Services for Mary Riegel Roberts, 85, of Stones Rover Manor, who died Wednesday, Oct. 21, after an extended illness, will be 3 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church with burial in Washington Memorial Cemetery, Washington Courthouse, Ohio. The Rev. Eric Laverentz will officiate.
She was the daughter of the late Henry S. and Anna G. Riegel and the widow of Samuel Kenneth Roberts, who died in 1982.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Roberts of Murfreesboro; a brother, Hiram Riegel of Springfield, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Judd Roberts, Margaret Roberts and Kathryn Roberts.
A native of Jackson, Ohio, she had lived in Murfreesboro the last six years. She was the retired owner/operator of the Carriage Coffee Shop in Ohio.
Visitation will be Friday after the services at First Presbyterian Church.
Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, Washington Courthouse, Ohio, is in charge of arrangements there and Jennings & Ayers is in charge of local arrangements.

He is survived by a son, Charlie Malone; a daughter, Dianne Swader; and five sisters, Evelyn Walton, Edna Sanders, Lumeto Malone, Annie Williams and Suzanne Mentlow.
The body will lie in state at H. Preston Scales & Sons Funeral Home today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until noon at Bethel Baptist Church.

She was a 1987 graduate of Oakland High School and a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church.
