Ruby Bell Herrod
Services for Ruby Bell Hillard Herrod, 78, of Bluebell Street, who died Monday, Oct. 26, at NHC Healthcare, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jennings & Ayers chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. James E. Avaritt Sr. will officiate.
A native of College Grove, she was the daughter of Melvin Earl Hillard and Minnie Belle Fair Hillard and the widow of Henry Jackson Herrod, who died in 1961, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Loyce Herrod.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Herrod of Murfreesboro, Andy Herrod of Rockvale, Jimmy Herrod of Beech Grove; four daughters, Alice Qualls of Murfreesboro, Martha Jones of Murfreesboro, Mary Durham of La Vergne and Joyce Bucy of Smyrna; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Bellwood Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.

Bobby Joe Murphy
Services for Bobby Joe Murphy Sr., 45, Fisk Drive, La Vergne, who died suddenly Monday, Oct. 26, at home, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Jennings & Ayers with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
He was the son of the late Willie Lee Murphy Sr. and Josie Pauling Johnson Murphy.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Murphy of La Vergne; three sons, Bobby Murphy Jr., Rockvale, Dewain Vaughn of Smyrna, Travis Murphy of La Vergne; two daughters, Beverly Jo Murphy and Daphne Murphy, both of La Vergne; four brothers, David Murphy, Robert Murphy, both of Watertown, Jay Murphy of Nashville, Billy Murphy of Carthage; three sisters, Jean Davis of Watertown, Shirley Sisco, Betty Brewington, both of Lebanon; and seven grandchildren.
A Rutherford County native, he lived in La Vergne most of his life and was a foreman for an excavating company.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Harry L. Taylor
Services for Harry L. Taylor, 78, Coleman Hill Road, Rockvale, who died Monday, Oct. 26, at his home, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel of Jennings & Ayers with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Jack Gilbert will officiate.
A native of Pierre, S.D., he was the son of the late Harry Edward Taylor and Dorothy Johnson Taylor and was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Patterson Taylor and a son, Robert E. Taylor
He is survived by a son, James Lowden Taylor of Eagleville; two daughters, Anne Taylor Murray of Mount Juliet and Lisa Taylor Ezell of Murfreesboro; a brother, Lyle Taylor of Atwater, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
He was a member of the Eagleville United Methodist Church and was a retired flight line supervisor for Lockheed Aircraft.
Visitation with the family will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Jessie Cooper Harris, 88, of Murfreesboro, who died Monday, Oct. 26, at NHC Healthcare, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Leamon Flatt officiating.
A Cannon County native, she was the daughter of the late A.A. and Kathy Summers Cooper.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Harris; two daughters, Martha Williams of Louisville, Ky., and Helen Derthick of Brentwood; a sister, Gwen Turney of Auburntown; a brother, Winfred Cooper of Murfreesboro; a grandson; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Kingwood Heights Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stones River Manor. Visitation with family will be from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Colonel F. Bean
Services for Colonel Franklin Bean, 78, of Murfreesboro, who died Monday, Oct. 26, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Thyatira Cemetery.
A native of Royalton, Ill., he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Snyder Bean.
He is survived by his wife, Lorene Bean; a son, Chris Bean of Madison, Ala.; three sisters, Lola Bogle of Murfreesboro, Elizabeth Simpson of Waverly and Ruby Sarana of Cleveland, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
He attended the Baptist church and was a retired employee of Home Roofing Co.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Beeler and Alice Beeler, the widow of Allison Hayes, and was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Hayes.
She is survived by a brother, Marvin Beeler of Cambellsville; a grandson, Ralph Hayes of Murfreesboro; and two great-grandchildren, Eric Hayes and Jessica Hayes, both of Murfreesboro.

Services of Ellis H. Haynes, 78, Triune community, who died Wednesday, Oct. 28, at his home after an extended illness, will be 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, with burial in College Grove Cemetery. David Arnold and Ralph Gilliam will officiate.
He was the son of the late Alvin Madison and Anna Laura Baldridge Haynes and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Harper Haynes, who died Oct. 28, 1997.
He is survived by four daughters, Shirley Fowler, Linda Lee, both of Smyrna, Kathy Corum of Cumming, Ga., Sandra Hill of Eagleville; a son, Howard Haynes of Fairview, N.C.; a sister, Betty Doris Smithson of Knoxville; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was a native of Rutherford County and a member of Almaville Church of Christ.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He worked at AVCO as a machinist for 28 years before retirement.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He is survived by three daughters, Kathy Potter of Murfreesboro, Rosanell Fulghum of Eagleville, Billie Thompson of Columbus, Ga.; four sisters, Lorine Bolinger of Knoxville, Myrtle Ruth Ivery of College Grove, Billie Robinson of Franklin, Ann Wells of Port Ludlow, Wash.; four brothers, Ollie Lee Owen of College Grove, Jesse Owen of Thompson Station, Ed Owen of Franklin, James Owen of Nashville; and four grandchildren.
A native of Williamson County, he was a retired press operator for Ford Glass Plant, Nashville.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at Lawrence Funeral Home.
