Lillie Burwell Sullivan
Services for Lillie Burwell Sullivan, 72, Huntsvillle, Ala., who died Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, Ala., will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Bartley Primitive Baptist Church, Huntsville, with burial in Big Cove Cemetery. Johnny Jones will officiate.
She is survived by five daughters, including Marva Sullivan Lucas of Murfreesboro, and four sons.

Jerrell Prater
Services for Jerrell Prater, 57, Woodbury, who died Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center after a short illness, will be 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with burial in Leoni Cemetery. Dan Winkler, Clarence McGee, Herb Alsup and Odell Powell will officiate.
He was the son of Mary Haley Prater of Woodbury and the late Nollie Prater.
He is survived by his mother; his wife, Jeanette Morris Prater of Woodbury; a son, Michael Prater of Goodlettsville; three daughters, Annette Rice of Murfreesboro, Lori Jones of Woodbury, Darci Lack; two brothers, Glyn Prater, Wayne Prater, both of Woodbury; a sister, Betty Sue Lewis of Louisville, Ky.; and one granddaughter.
He was employed as a pattern maker at Warners of Murfreesboro.
He was a member of Leoni Church of Christ.
Visitation is after 11 a.m. today and Friday until the time of services.

Raymond L. Harrell Jr.
Services for Raymond Lowe Harrell Jr., 59, Valinda, Calif., who died Monday, Oct. 26, in California of cancer, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Jennings & Ayers with burial in Thyatira Cemetery. The Rev. Woodrow Medlock will officiate.
He was the son of Lera Mae Layhew Harrell of Smyrna and the late Raymond L. Harrell Sr.
He is survived by his mother; four sons, Richard W. Harrell of Murfreesboro, Raymond Scott Harrell of La Vergne, John Todd Harrell of Kentucky, Jeffrey M. Harrell of Valinda, Calif.; four brothers, James Andrew Harrell, Irwin K. Harrell, both of Murfreesboro, Johnnie Richard Harrell of Smyrna, Harvey Lee Harrell of Woodbury; four sisters, Betty Jean Adams, Rachel Ann Douglas, Susie Mae Harrell, all of Murfreesboro, Mattie L. Ryberg of Smyrna; and five grandchildren.
A native of Rutherford County, he had lived in California for the last 32 years and was employed as a welder.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Jennings & Ayers.

Essie Johnson
Services for Essie Johnson, 89, Eagleville, who died Thursday, Oct. 29, at NHC Healthcare of Murfreesboro, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Johnson Cemetery. The Rev. Ray Lee Jackson will officiate.
She is survived by two sons, Dorris Johnson and Earnest Johnson Jr., both of Eagleville, and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at H. Preston Scales & Sons Funeral Home. The body will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

William Rufus Mankin
Services for William Rufus Mankin, 76, who died Thursday, Oct. 29, from a tractor accident, will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Randall Chaudoin will officiate.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Rena Elrod and William Rucker Mankin, and was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Mankin.
He is survived by his wife, Fayola Clark Mankin; two daughters, Linda Wilson of Viola, Nancy Bagwell of Murfreesboro; a son, Joe William Mankin of Murfreesboro; a sister, Carolyn M. Stephenson of Murfreesboro; a brother, Rucker Mankin Jr., of Shelbyville; and seven grandchildren.
He was a member of the Dilton Church of Christ, a farmer and retired employee of United Service Equipment. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European and Asiatic-Pacific theaters.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Ruth Smith Yeargan
Services for Ruth Smith Yeargan, 82, who died Thursday, Oct. 29, at Boulevard Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. David Garth will officiate.
A native of the Salem community, she was the daughter of the late Sidney B. and Lucy Currey Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Frank C. Yeargan; two daughters, Lucia Yeargan Roberts of Marietta, Ga., and Frances Yeargan Hitchens of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; a brother, Duncan Smith of Murfreesboro; three sisters, Margaret Brandon of Lewisburg, Lucia Muse of Nashville and Mary Eastman Baggenstoss of Winchester; and four grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the William Lytle Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Woman's Club. She was also a graduate of Middle Tennessee State Teachers College.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

David Charles Melton
Services for David Charles Melton, 60, of the Longview community, who died at home Thursday night, Oct. 29, after an extended illness, will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Willis Pope and William Lockhart will officiate.
Born in the Longview community, he was the son of W.A. "Bill" and Flossie Mae Wilson Melton.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Melton; three sons, Gordon Melton of Murfreesboro, Gerald Melton, Greg Melton, both of the Longview community; three stepchildren, Emily Bell, Larry Bell and Ron Smith, all of Unionville; four grandchildren and eight stepgrandchildren.
He was a member of the Longview Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of the Longview Gas Co. from 1982 until 1998.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and Saturday during the day and evening at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Murfreesboro.

Daniel Dement II
Graveside services for one-day-old Daniel Byron Dement II, of 808 Jay Lane in Lascassas, who died Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery, with Jim Powers officiating.
He was the son of Daniel Byron Dement and Tammy Lea Coker Dement.
He is survived by his parents and by his grandparents, Kelly and Glenner Dement of Lascassas, and Jim and Betty Hunter of Murfreesboro; and by two sisters, Kelsey Lea Dement and MaKenzie Hope Dement, both of Lascassas.

Jeffrey S. Hughes
Mr. Jeffrey S. Hughes, 42, of Lascassas Highway, died Friday, Oct. 30, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Services will be announced at a later date by Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Hughes was a native of Columbus, Ohio, and was the son of Arthur and Lou Ellen Kinney Hughes.
He is survived by his parents and by his wife, Tracy Hughes; a son, Arthur Hughes, and two daughters, Jennifer Hughes and Rebecca Hughes, all of Murfreesboro; and a sister, Linda Bovara of Columbus, Ohio.
Mr. Hughes was a truck driver for Western Auto for 14 years, and was a Vietnam War veteran. Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
