Louise Mathes
Services for Louise Mathes, 68, of Smyrna, who died Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
She was the daughter of the late Henry Jack and Edna Mae Burns Reece.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse Mathes; a daughter, Teresa Mathes, of Smyrna; brothers, Wymon Reece of Halls, David Wayne Reece of Chicago, Billy Joe Reece of Memphis, and Gwynne Reece of Killian, Ala.; sisters, Eula Mae Lewis of Bethalto, Ill., and Oline White of Bolingbrook, Ill.
A native of Dyer, she was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Carmine A. Gorham
Services for Mrs. Carmine Adams Gorham, 81, of Lebanon, who died Thursday at the Tennessee Veterans Home in Murfreesboro are scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon, followed by burial at Williams Cemetery at Norene, with the Revs. James Haynes and Carl Scarlett officiating.
Mrs. Gorham was a native of Wilson County, and was the daughter of the late Harvey and Lola Smith Adams. She is survived by four children, Mary Cozart of Lebanon, Wayne Gorham of Murfreesboro, Carolyn Blevins of Nashville and Gail Fite of Lebanon; four sisters, Nellie Haynes of Lebanon, Grace Hackney of Donelson, Zora Williams and Christine Fox, both of Lebanon; a brother, Jessie Adams of Seattle, Wash.; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gorham was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was retired from the York VA Medical Center.

Irene Dutton Harris
Services for Mrs. Irene Dutton Harris, 82, of 911 N. Academy St., who died Thursday at National Health Care Center of heart failure are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Jennings & Ayers Chapel, followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, with Jack Bailey officiating.
Mrs. Harris was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Dutton and Hallie Gertrude Keaton Dutton. Her first husband was the late Lonnie E. Neal, and she was later married to the late L.D. Harris. She is survived by a son, Hoyte L. Neal of Murfreesboro; three daughters, Loretta Jones of Murfreesboro, Norma J. Patterson of Beech Grove and Wanda Vickers of Readyville; a brother, W.R. Dutton of Cainsville; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Harris was a native of Wilson County who had lived most of her life in Rutherford County. She was a homemaker and a member of South Ridge Church of Christ. Visitation with the family will be held today from 4-8 p.m. at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home.

Thurman Payne
Services for Thurman Payne, 73, of Smyrna, who died Thursday, Dec. 3, at his home, will be 11 a.m. today at Smyrna Church of the Nazarene with burial in Mapleview Cemetery. The Rev. Ed Darling will officiate.
He was the son of the late Jesse Fox and Mary Zella Dean Payne, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ruth Payne who died in 1953.
He is survived by his wife Mayme Madewell Payne; two sons, David Payne of Murfreesboro and Samuel Payne of Franklin; four daughters, Deborah Chapman of Murfreesboro, Lois Williams of Corinth, Texas, Elizabeth West and Sarah Wilson, both of Smyrna; brothers, Hiram Payne of Las Vegas, Nev., Edward Payne of Dayton, Ohio, Marcel Payne of Apple Valley, Calif., Garland Payne and Jerry Payne both of Morrow, Ohio; sisters, Margie Bulpin of Dayton, Ohio, and Ruth DeWitt of Centerville, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was a member of the Smyrna Church of the Nazarene and was a World War II veteran who served in the South Pacific. He was a self-employed floor-covering mechanic.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.

L.D. Lawrence
Services for Mr. L.D. Lawrence, 78, of 1415 Avon Road, who died Saturday of a stroke at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are set for Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville. Kenneth L. Thomas and Ralph Neal will officiate.
He was the son of the late Leslie and Mary Chadwell Lawrence.
Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Julia Empson Lawrence of Murfreesboro; five sons, including Michael and Joel Lawrence of Murfreesboro, Jim and David Lawrence of Nashville, and Tommy Lawrence of Adams; two daughters, Jane Wilkerson of Cedar Hill, and Elizabeth Smith of Chicago; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A native of Rutherford County, Mr. Lawrence lived in Nashville most of his life before moving back to Murfreeboro 20 years ago. He was a retired minister and a former employee of Murfreesboro Freight Lines. He was a member of Sharpsville Church of Christ.
Visitation with the family is set from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. today and Monday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Jennings & Ayers. Donations may be made to the Central American mission at 1601 East Park Ave., P.O. Box 3799, Valdosta, GA 31604-3799.

Mary Clark
Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Bandy Clark, 68, of Sulphur Springs Road, who died Saturday, at her home, are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Wise officiating.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Avanelle Barrows Bandy.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband, Harvey W. Clark Jr.; one daughter, Kevin C. Clements of Atlanta; two sons, Chuck Clark and David M. Clark, both of Murfreesboro; and four grandchildren.
She was a native of Chattanooga, a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and a retired school teacher, having taught in Brunswick, Ga.
She was a graduate of MTSU and a charter member of the Stones River Chapter of the Embroiders Guild of America.
Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Murfreesboro and the Linebaugh Library.

Roy G. Byford
Graveside services for Mr. Roy G. Byford, 69, of Peachtree Street, who died Saturday, Dec. 5, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are set for Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Rosehill Memorial Gardens in Manchester.
A native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late Eldy and Ruby Thomas Byford.
He is survived by three sons, Chris and Mike Byford of Mattoon, Ill., and Roy Byford of Neoga, Ill.; one daughter, Joanie Hitz of Chicago; two sisters, Mary Sitz and Lillian Smothers, both of Murfreesboro; one brother, James Byford of St. Louis; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Byford worked for Texaco in Chicago and McDonnell Aircraft in St. Louis.
Visitation with the family is set for Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Elmer Robinson
Services for Mrs. Elmer Lee Robinson Underwood, 77, of Eagleville, who died Saturday in Nashville after an extended illness, are set for 10 a.m. Monday at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill with burial in Rocky Glade Cemetery in Rutherford County.
Mrs. Underwood was the daughter of the late Romus and Annie Reynolds Robinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Thomas Underwood, who died in 1995.
She is survived by one son, Charles Ray Underwood of Eagleville; one brother, Johnny Robinson of the Wheel community in Bedford County; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Underwood was a homemaker and a member of the Eagleville United Methodist Church.
Visitation with the family is set from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Leneil Edwards
Services for Leniel Edwards, of Jackson, Miss., formerly of Bell Buckle, who died Saturday, Dec. 5, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel with burial in Hazel Cemetery in Bell Buckle. John Bowman and Jim Creech will officiate.
She was the daughter of the late Clarence Douglas and Lucy Harrison Edwards.
She is survived by a sister, Julia Hackett of Jackson. Miss.; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A former teacher and librarian at MTSU for 22 years, she was a member of the Bell Buckle Church of Christ, Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Society, National Education Association and Tennessee Education Association. She was a graduate of Webb School in Bell Buckle.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
