John Ray Zimmerman
Services for John Ray Zimmerman, 70, of Mona Road, who died Saturday, Dec. 26, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. (EST) at Merritt Adams Funeral Home, Cumberland, Md., with burial in Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap, Cumberland, Md. The Rev. Fred Iser will officiate.
A native of Hyndman, Pa., he was the son of the late John Samuel and Irene Logue Zimmerman.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Keathley Zimmerman; a son, Michael Ray Zimmerman of Mt. Juliet; and a brother, Harry Logue of Flintstone, Pa.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a master sergeant. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Robert W. Libell Sr.
Services for Robert Warren Libell Sr., 75, of Gwynne Street, Smyrna, who died Sunday, Dec. 27, at Baptist Hospital, Nashville, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with burial in Mapleview Cemetery with full military honors. Terry Davenport will officiate.
A native of Portland, Ore., he was the son of the late Verner J. and Theresa Marie Oberg Libell and the widower of Peg Libell, who died in 1991.
He is survived by a son, Robert W. Libell of Smyrna; daughters, Rita Libell-Caldwell, Tia Libell of Smyrna, Linda Higgins of Boise, Idaho, and Leslie Benson of Vacaville, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
He served 28 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a colonel. He then taught at Hillsboro High School in Nashville for 13 years.
He was a Mason and a member of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas.
Memorials may be sent to the Smyrna library.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.

Services for Christopher N. Villers, 40, of Woodbury, who died Sunday, Dec. 27, at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
A native of Murfreesboro, he was the son of Joyce Massey Watts of Woodbury and the late Lawrence F. Villers Sr.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Robin Villers of Murfreesboro; daughter April Klienepeter of Murfreesboro; son, Christopher Villers of Murfreesboro; brothers, Richard Villers of Woodbury, Lawrence F. Villers Jr., of Woodbury, and Daniel Muhammed of Nashville; and one grandson.

Services for William David Haithcock, 80, of Almaville Road, Smyrna, who died Sunday, Dec. 27, at his home, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with burial in Mapleview Cemetery. Keith Coleman will officiate.
A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late William H. and Lillie Smithson Haithcock.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Black Peebles Haithcock; daughters, Dolorus Andrews of Montgomery, Ala., Betty Dennis of Nashville, Patsy Irvin and Sandra Gallagher, both of Smyrna; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Stewarts Creek Church of Christ and was a retired employee of Textron in Nashville.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.

He is survived by daughters, Linda Vanzant of Pulaski, Martha Fraley of Murfreesboro, Margaret Scates of Knoxville, Rita Waye of Winchester; a sister, Ethel Bounds of Long View, Texas; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Hazle Ward

She was the daughter of the late Paul McCluskey and Lillie Mae Kimbrough McCluskey.

Barnes of Lewisburg, Willard Ward of Dalton, Ga., Eddie Ward of Greeneville, Miss.; daughters, Hazel Marie Swanner of Murfreesboro, Dorothy Morgan of Pulaski, Barbara Ward of Lewisburg, Faye Ward Meadows of Minor Hill; a sister, Lucy Helton of St. Louis, Mo., a brother, Guy McCluskey of Prospect; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A native of Giles County, she was a housewife.

Services for Maurice G. Blankenbeckler, 75, of Asheville, N.C., who died in a hospice after a brief illness, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Asheville, N.C., with burial in Bellview Cemetery, Lenoir, N.C. Ron Crawford, Henry Crouch and Rev. Gail Coulter will officiate.
He was the son of the late James William Blankenbeckler and Lockie Blevins Blankenbeckler.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Pearson Blankenbeckler; a daughter, Maureen Simons of Spencer, W.Va.; brothers, William Lee Blankenbeckler of Elliston, Va., George Blankenbeckler of San Angelo, Texas; sisters, Martha Richards of Salem, Va., Vivian Parks of Roanoke, Va.; and one granddaughter.
He served in World War II as a specialist with the Headquarters Battery of the 204th Artillery Group.
He managed Roses Stores Inc. in Murfreesboro until 1972 when he returned to Asheville, N.C., where he served as regional superintendent.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Kiwanis Club of Asheville, and the Asheville Merchants Association.
Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Morris Funeral Home in Asheville, N.C.

John H. Laizure Sr.
John H. Laizure Sr., 61, of Smyrna, died Saturday, Dec. 26.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Laizure; sons, John H. Laizure Jr. of Woodbury, Paul Laizure and Michael Laizure, both of Murfreesboro; daughters, Mary Devaul of Monroe, N.C., Theresa Cantwell of Canton, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren.
No services are to be held. His remains were donated to Vanderbilt Medical School.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nashville Child Abuse Center.

Michael Vachon
Michael George Charles Vachon, 33, of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, Dec. 27, from complications of AIDS.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Vashon.
He is survived by his mother, Donna Tracy of Murfreesboro; sister, Michelle Vashon of North Little Rock, Ark.; three half sisters in France; a grandfather, George W. Tracy of Calais, Maine.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz.
No services are planned and his cremated remains will be scattered in San Francisco, Calif. in a private ceremony.
Hellum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
