John A. Lawson Sr.
Services for John Avery Lawson Sr., 63, of Murfreesboro, who died Saturday, Jan. 2, at the VA Medical Center in Nashville from cancer, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jennings & Ayers chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
He was the son of the late Frank Lawson Sr. and Ruby Avery Lawson.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Lawson; sons, John Avery Lawson Jr. and Christopher Lawson, both of Murfreesboro; daughters, Jennifer Lawson of Murfreesboro, Linda Durante of Woodbury; brothers, Frank Lawson Jr. of Alabama, Charles Lawson of Michigan; sisters, Daphne Woodle and Dorothy Anderson, both of South Carolina; and four grandchildren.
A native of Walker County, Ala., he was a retired U.S. Air Force technical sergeant. He owned and operated Lawson Heating and Air Conditioning repair service.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was the daughter of the late William A. and Billie Seymour Butterfield and the widow of Douglas C. Whitley.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Cox of Matthews, N.C.; brothers, John Butterfield of Newburg, N.Y., Jack Butterfield of Knoxville; a sister, Mary Crowell of Whites Creek; and a grandson.
She was a native of Toledo, Ohio, and a member of La Vergne United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late R.L. and Ruby Mae Talley Greenway.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Greenway; a son, Brian Greenway of Murfreesboro; daughters, Tiffany Greenway and Brittney Greenway, both of Murfreesboro; stepdaughters, Heather Marks of Hendersonville, Ashley Marks of Murfreesboro; a brother, Larry Greenway of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sisters, Helen Underwood of Baltimore, Md., Joyce Jewell of Goodlettsville, Barbara Wheeler of Ashland, Ky., and Sandy Wallin of Key Bisbayne, Fla.
A native of Murfreesboro, he was a member of Whiteside Methodist Church in Shelbyville. He was owner and founder of Creative Productions. He was a singer and songwriter.

Grover C. Greene
Services for Grover Cleveland Greene, 82, of Madison, who died Sunday, Jan. 3, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Gallagher Greene; sons, Tony Greene and Don Greene, both of Nashville, Chris Greene of Murfreesboro, Gil Greene of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Robert Greene of Nashville; and seven grandchildren.
A Vanderbilt graduate, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a staff sergeant. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of the American Legion. He coached football at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, with a Rosary service at 8 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home.

She was the widow of Clarence Richard Toller.
She is survived by sons, Ronald Toller of Madison, Sherman Toller of Fishers, Ind.; daughters, Susan Toller Wilson of Nashville, Juanita Toller Still of Smyrna; and three grandchildren.
A native of Hokkaido, Japan, she was a retired employee of the Omni Hut of Smyrna.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

L.A. Higgenbotham
Memorial services for L.A. Higgenbotham, 69, of Cookeville, who died Friday, Jan. 1, at York VA Medical Center, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home, Cookeville. Wade McDonald and Sam Brooks will officiate.
He was the son of the late Harvey and Mable Masters Higgenbotham.
He is survived by his wife, Billie D. Wright Higgenbotham; a son, Shane Higgenbotham of Cookeville; a daughter, Vickie Kearley of Knoxville; a sister, Ruby Rector of Cookeville; brothers, T.J. Higgenbotham of Crossville, Millis Higgenbotham of Cookeville; a granddaughter; and a stepgranddaughter.
A native of Putnam County, he was a CPA and cattleman. He attended the Bangham Heights Baptist Church and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Marine Corp.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday.

She was the daughter of the late Dee and Lee Haney Scott and was the widow of Rufus S. Butler.
She is survived by sons, Samuel J. Butler of Millington, Scott M. Butler of Murfreesboro; sisters, Docia Lawrence of Columbia, Emalee Tallman of Cornersville; six grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
A native of Arkansas, she was a homemaker and a member of Cannon United Methodist Church.
