Rupert A. Klaus
Services for Rupert A. Klaus, 77, who died Sunday, Jan. 10, at NHC HealthCare of Murfreesboro, will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church with burial 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. David Brabender will officiate.
He was the son of the late August H. and Mathilda Mahken Klaus.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Klaus; a son, James R. Klaus of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Elizabeth Davis of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Irvin Klaus of Tallahassee, Fla.; sisters, Elvira Roth and Marie Anna Theiss, both of Perry County, Mo.; and four grandchildren.
A native of Perry County, Mo., he was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was a retired assistant superintendent of Murfreesboro City Schools and retired school psychologist. He was a graduate of Southeast Missouri College and received his masters and doctorate from Peabody College. He was active in the Boy Scouts and was past president of Murfreesboro Kiwanis Club. He was a life member of National Education Association and the American Psychologist Association and a former member of the Tennessee Board of Examiners in Psychology.
Memorials may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

James Morton Read
Services for James Morton Read, 55, of Eagleville, who died Monday, Jan. 11, at Bedford County Medical Center of an apparent heart attack, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Lawrence Funeral Home chapel, Chapel Hill, with burial in Simpson Cemetery in Bedford County. James Read will officiate.
He was the son of the late James Morton Read Sr. and Alla Smotherman Read.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry L. Read; daughters, Tina Majors of Nashville, Dawn Milliken of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Judy Turner of Eagleville; and two grandchildren.
A native of Davidson County, he was a printer with Courier Printing of Smyrna. He was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Bedford County.
Visitation will be today at the funeral home.

Esther Millon Seeman
A memorial service for Esther Millon Seeman, 76, of Nashville, who died Monday, Jan. 11, at home, will be held at MTSU at a later date.
She is survived by her husband, Julius Seeman; sons, Larry Seeman of Nashville, Bradley Seeman of Boston; a brother, Milton Millon of Miami, Fla.; and a grandson.
She was the Director of the Japan Center of Tennessee and professor emeritus of political science at MTSU.

A family service was held today.

Services for Geraldine Johnson, 68, of Murfreesboro, who died Sunday, Jan. 10, at Raintree Manor in McMinnville, after an extended illness, will be noon Friday at Webb's Chapel AME Church with burial in Lovvorn Cemetery. The Rev. Leland Webster will officiate.
She was the daughter of the late Alex and Sallie Crawford.
She is survived by brothers, Leonard Crawford of Murfreesboro, Luther Crawford of Topeka, Kan.; and a sister, Beulah Rush of Murfreesboro.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the church.

She was the daughter of the late Hugh F. and Martha Fathera Dunn and the widow of Paul B. Shipp.
She is survived by a son, William F. Shipp of Murfreesboro; daughters, Juanita Leyhew of Milton, Margaret I. Harris of Woodbury; a sister, Willie Tolbert of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A native of the Kittrell community, she was a member of Compton Road Church of Christ and attended Kittrell High School.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late John Houston and Mary Lewis Short and the widower of Margaret Mann Short.

Juliet, daughters, Janice Todd of Lascassas, Beverly Hickerson of Brentwood, Elaine Cawthon of Murfreesboro; a brother, Bruce Short of Smyrna; sisters, Lucille Purcell and Gladys Alsup, both of Murfreesboro, Elizabeth Harris of Columbia; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A native of Rutherford County, he was a retired employee of Avco. He was a member the Powell's Chapel Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late James Frank Willingham Sr. and Ruby Truelove Willingham.
He is survived by his wife, Juanice Odom Willingham; brothers, Lewis Willingham of Kingsport, Kenneth Willingham of Johnson City, Charles Willingham of Elizabethton; and a sister, Barbara Hundley of Johnson City.
A native of Johnson City, he was a retired pilot of the U.S. Air Force from which he retired as a major. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Smyrna.

A native of Cannon County, she was a homemaker and a member of Sanders Fork Baptist Church.
