Services for Sherry VanMeter, 24, of Bradyville, who died Sunday, Jan. 17, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Woodrow Medlock will officiate.
She was the daughter of Nick and Shirley Nicholson of Christiana.
She is survived by her husband, Joe VanMeter; stepsisters Sheri Bickford of Murfreesboro, Rhonda Ryan of Smyrna; and a stepbrother Corey Nicholson of Smyrna.
A native of Rutherford County, she was a graduate of Riverdale High School.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Harry Jordan
Services for Harry Jordan, 74, of Rockvale, who died Saturday, Jan. 16 at Community Care of Rutherford County, will be noon Friday at Rockvale Independent Original Church of God with burial in Lovvorn Cemetery. Jimmy Tyson and John W. Batts will officiate.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Jordan; a brother, Joe Jordan of Eagleville; sisters Maggie A. Frazier, Facie Lee Puckett and Josephine Greer, all of Murfreesboro.
The body will lie-in-state from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the church.

Ophelia Dial Hanvy
Services for Ophelia Dial Hanvy, 90, of Columbia, who died Monday, Jan. 18, at Maury Regional Hospital, were to be 2:30 p.m. today at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Billy Dean Felker will officiate.
She was the daughter of the late Joe Dial and Mary Blanche Howell Dial and the widow of Herman Hanvy.
She is survived by sons Herman Hanvy of Columbia, Tommy Hanvy of Antioch; daughters Betty Pilkinton of Columbia, Josephine Johnson of Murfreesboro, and Louise Vernon of Kirtland, N.M.; a brother, Porter Dial of Columbia; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A native of Maury County, she was a member of the Stiversville Church of Christ.
Visitation was held Tuesday at the funeral home.

Services for Willie Mae Underhill, 84, of Smithville, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Riverside Hospital, after an extended illness, will be 2 p.m. today at Love-Cantrell Chapel with burial in Banks Cemetery. Jonathan Watson will officiate.
She was the daughter of the late James Houston and Lida Myrtle Cannon Stembridge and was the widow of William Odis Underhill. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Elaine Underhill.
She is survived by a daughter, Fay Tucker of Smithville; granddaughters Janet Krapf of Murfreesboro and Karen Vaughn of Manchester; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a housewife and attended Banks Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Visitation was to be 9 a.m to 2 p.m. today.

James E. Sturgell
Services for James E. Sturgell, 73, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, at York VA Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
He was the son of Dosha Angel Sturgell of Murfreesboro and the late Everette Sturgell.
He is survived by sons James Sturgell of Murfreesboro, Dale Sturgell of North Judson, Ind., Larry Sturgell of Chicago, Ill., Rhett Sturgell of Smyrna; a daughter, Janie Sturgell of Valley Falls, N.Y.; a brother, Loy Sturgell of Murfreesboro; sisters Anna Sturgell and Louise McCarty, both of Murfreesboro; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
A native of Emma, Ky., he was a Navy veteran of World War II and a self-employed television repairman. He was a member of the Church of Christ and American Legion Post 88 in Donelson.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Services for Mable Lois Modrall Lovvorn, 94, of Shelbyville, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Bedford County Medical Center, after an extended illness, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Shelbyville, with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Darryl Craft and Rev. Thomas Maddox will officiate.
She was the daughter of the late A.A. and Angie Wood Modrall and the widow of Freeman Lovvorn. She was preceded in death by sons Lester Lovvorn and Billy Lovvorn.
She is survived by a son, Marvin C. Lovvorn of Shelbyville; a daughter, Mattie L. Carlton of Shelbyville; a sister, Eura Maie Beasley of Murfreesboro; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A native of Freestone County, Texas, she was a retired manager and cook for Shelbyville Mills School. She was a member of Shelbyville Mills Baptist Church and the Unionville F.C.E. Club.
Memorials may be sent to Shelbyville Mills Baptist Church library.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Myrtle Harvey Pittard, 88, of Indiahoma, Okla., who died Monday, Jan 18, in a local care center, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Eddie Stark will officiate.
She was the widow of Ray K. Pittard and was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Pittard.
She is survived by daughters Dorothy Buckner of Indianapolis, Ind., Jean McGavic and Bonnie Pittard, both of Indiahoma, Okla.; a sister, Mattie Reeves of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A native of Murfreesboro, she was a licensed professional nurse and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
