James R. Scarbrough
Services for James Robert Scarbrough, 72, of Smyrna, who died Wednesday, Jan. 27, at St. Thomas Hospital from heart failure, will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Booneville Cemetery in Lincoln County. Tim Lavender will officiate.
He was the son of the late John F. and Maggie Tucker Scarbrough. He was preceded in death by a son, James David Scarbrough.
He is survived by his wife, Fay Ingle Scarbrough; a daughter, Susan G. Scarbrough of Beech Grove; and a brother, Fred Scarbrough of Murfreesboro.
A native of Summitville, he was retired from CSX Railroad. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Frederick Miles
Services for Frederick Miles, 56, of Dixon, who died Tuesday, Jan. 26, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with burial in Silver Springs Cemetery in Smyrna. The Rev. Ben T. Johnson will officiate.
He was the son of Gladys Miles and the late Rev. John Miles Sr.
He is survived by brothers Sam Miles, John Miles Jr., David Miles, Ricky Miles, all of Murfreesboro; sisters Rosemary Miles, Christine Lyons, Diane Dennis, Victoria Smith, Margaret Miles, all of Murfreesboro, and Geraldine Allen of Watertown.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Graveside services for Deborah Kay Thompson Skaggs, 43, of Murfreesboro, who died Tuesday, Jan. 26, at York VA Medical Center, were to be conducted at 10 a.m. today at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late George and Betty Francis Thompson.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Joy Skaggs of Collinwood; a brother, Jim Thompson of Columbus, Ga.; sisters Patty Rigsby of Eagleville, Joy Criscoe of Nashville, and Nina Spears of Woodstock, Ga.
A native of Rutherford County, she was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Vine Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Alvin Wesley Willard and Ida Belle Pearcy Willard. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Horvath.
She is survived by a daughter, Ida Katherine Horvath of Norwalk; a brother, Glen Price Willard of Belleair, Fla.; and a sister, Mary Travis Willard Stephens of Memphis.
A native of Rutherford County, she was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Services for Robert Gerald Lane, 85, who died Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the West Tennessee Skilled Nursing Center in Jackson, will be 6 p.m. today in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home. Another service will follow Friday at 1 p.m. at the Union Methodist Church in Plantersville, Miss., with burial in Union Cemetery. The Rev. Randy Rinehart will officiate.
He was the son of the late Robert Harold and Maude Morgan Lane and the widower of Catherine Griffin Lane.
He is survived by a daughter, DeLois Palmer of Murfreesboro; a sister, Ava Lawler of Bynum, Ala.; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A native of Jackson, he was a retired, self-employed carpenter and contractor. He was a member of the Malesus Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World.

A native of Bedford County, she was a homemaker and was retired from Durango Boot Company in Chapel Hill. She was a member of North Fork Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, H.C. Davis of the Gum Community; daughters Janie Sanders of Alcoa, Lillian Davis Williams of Summerville, S.C., Marian Vaughn of Murfreesboro, Frances Wheeler of Nashville; a sister, Lillie Mai Buchanan of Murfreesboro; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the granddaughter of the late governor John Price Buchanan.
