SUELLEN BRENNER BLEN, 56, of Memphis, teacher at St. George's Day School, died of cancer Thursday at her home. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Temple Israel cemetery. Canale Funeral Directors has charge. She was a member of Temple Israel, and also taught for Shelby County Schools and the Jewish Community Center. Mrs. Blen, the wife of Dr. Bernard J. Blen, also leaves a daughter, Marcy Klayman Blen; two sons, Scott D. Blen and Michael D. Blen, and two sisters, Jeri B. Israel and Felice B. Rosenthal, all of Memphis, and a grandchild. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any memorials be sent to Temple Israel or a charity of the donor's choice.

MATTIE M. COLE, 54, of West Memphis, security guard, died of heart failure Sept. 29 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Beautiful Zion Missionary Baptist Church in West Memphis with burial in Paradise Gardens in Edmondson, Ark. Anthony Funeral Home in West Memphis has charge. Mrs. Cole, the wife of Eugene Cole, also leaves two daughters, Janice Strong and Lakisha Cole, and two sons, Eugene Cole Jr. and Rodney Cole, all of West Memphis; three sisters, Elizabeth Redd of Lynn, Mass., and Ruby Nolen and Earnestine White, both of West Memphis; a brother, Jake Strong of West Memphis, and nine grandchildren.

JAMES J. CUNNINGHAM, 94, of Memphis, retired draftsman for McClusky and Grant Contractors, died of heart failure Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, where he was a communicant, with burial in Saints Peter and Paul cemetery in Philadelphia. Bartlett Funeral Home Family Heritage Chapel has charge. Mr. Cunningham, the widower of Margaret Cunningham, leaves a son, James J. Cunningham Jr. of Memphis; a brother, John Cunningham of Philadelphia, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Stroke Association of Dallas.

A. D. CRAWFORD, 85, of Memphis, died of heart failure Thursday at Methodist Hospital South. M. J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church on Manassas. Mr. Crawford, the husband of Lucille Crawford, also leaves seven daughters, Paulette Crawford, Annie M. Griggs, Juanita Dennis, Mable Richardson and Nettie Jackson, all of Memphis, Wanda Jones of Oakland, Calif., and Frances Rupert of San Diego; four sons, Paul Crawford, James Crawford, Samuel Rupert and Johnny Tubbs, all of Memphis; three sisters, Emma Ingram and Lenoia Weir, both of St. Louis, and Eria B. Ellis of North Carolina; a brother, Coleman Crawford Jr. of Memphis, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

EARL FLOYD, 76, of Memphis, retired employee of White Rose Laundry, died of cancer Thursday at Saint Francis Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Memorial Park. He was a member of Audubon Park Baptist Church, a Mason and a Scottish Rite. Mr. Floyd, the widower of Ethel Floyd, leaves a daughter, Sharon Hamilton Turner of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Bobbie Ruth Tillman, and a brother, Raymond Floyd, both of Tillatoba, Miss., two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.

OMA FREEMAN, 76, of 4547 Valley Stream, retired nurse's aide, died of heart failure Tuesday at Saint Francis Hospital. She was a volunteer foster grandmother at Arlington Developmental Center. She leaves a daughter, Nina Boyd of Memphis, five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

NED MIMS FRENCH, 91, of Memphis, retired treasurer of McDonald Brothers Co. Inc., died of pneumonia Thursday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ United Methodist Church, where he was a charter member, board member and chairman of the finance committee, with private burial. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. He was a graduate of University of Mississippi, served as director for the Memphis Area Better Business Bureau, president for National Association of Credit Management Mid-South Unit, national director for National Association of Credit Management, and member of Kiwanis Club of Memphis. Mr. French, the husband of Helen Gwaltney French, also leaves a son, Taylor Nickles French of Memphis, two grandsons and two great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Christ United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.

GARY HANKINS, 52, of Southaven, formerly of Tupelo, Miss., electrician, died Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven after a heart attack. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pegues Funeral Home Jefferson Street Chapel with burial in Tupelo Memorial Park cemetery. He was a member of the Assembly of God and a Navy veteran. Mr. Hankins, the husband of Marilyn Pennington Hankins, also leaves three daughters, Danielle Foster of Bartlett, and Jessica Hankins and Elizabeth Hankins, both of Southaven; two sons, Joseph Hankins and Michael Hankins, both of Southaven; his mother, Doris Hankins of Tupelo; two brothers, Danny Hankins and Steven Hankins, both of Southaven, and a grandchild.

LEE PARKS HART, 73, of Memphis, retired superintendent of Stan-O-Type Printing Co., died of coronary obstructive pulmonary disease Thursday at his home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran serving in the Pacific-Asiatic campaigns and a Korean War Marine Corps veteran. Mr. Hart, the husband of Grace T. Hart, also leaves a son, Eddie L. Hart of Brighton, Tenn.; four stepchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Dawn of Chattanooga and Nan Ruth Brower of Rossville, Ga., two granddaughters and six stepgrandchildren. He was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and a 1974 graduate of Germantown High School. Mr. Knight, the husband of Terri Knight for 10 years, also leaves a stepson, Charles Umsted; his mother, Dorothy Irene Knight, and two sisters, Barbara Adams and Barbara Cash, all of Memphis, and his brother, Steve Knight of Gardner, Kan. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, any memorials be sent to the National Brain Tumor Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

Mr. O'Neal, the widower of Magnolia G. O'Neal, leaves two daughters, Gloria J. O'Neal of Memphis and Jo Anne Via of Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, Clifton A.
