BETTY L. DUCREST 74, of Memphis, registered nurse, died of heart failure Monday at Saint Francis Hospital. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Central Christian Church. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. She was a member of American Association of University Women, George Mason University Alumni Association and McWherter Senior Center. Mrs. Ducrest, the wife of John A. Ducrest, also leaves two daughters, Elizabeth Horton and Laurie Anthony; a son, David Ducrest; her mother, Nurselia Magee; a sister, Billie Lopez and a brother, Otto Magee Jr., both of New Orleans, and four grandchildren.

EUGENE ROGERS GOODWYN JR., 92, of Seneca, S.C., formerly of Memphis and Greenwood, S.C., former warden and associate warden for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, died of a stroke Wednesday at Oconee Memorial Hospital. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University and the New School for Social Research in New York City. He leaves a son, Eugene R.
