LONNIE SANFORD JR., 51, of Memphis, died of heart failure Saturday at Spring Gate Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. M. J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. He was an Army veteran. He leaves five daughters and a son, all of New Orleans; his mother, Lou Salley; a sister, Andrea Williams and four brothers, Kenneth Sanford, Anthony Sanford, Jerald Sanford and Vincent Sanford, all of Chicago.

LUNA MAHAN SWOOPE, 90, of Memphis, formerly of Newton, Miss., died of heart failure Saturday at Methodist Healthcare-Central. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trezevant Manor Chapel with graveside services at 11 a.m. Friday in Newton. Canale Funeral Directors has charge. She was a graduate of Newton High School and a member of Newton Presbyterian Church. JESS W. WARFIELD, 83, of Jackson, Tenn., formerly of Memphis, retired maintenance supervisor for Crossett (Ark.) Public School System, died Sunday at Northbrook Health Care Center of complications from several strokes. Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Woodland Baptist Church in Jackson, where he was a member, with burial in Forest Hill cemetery East. Forest Hill Funeral Home East has charge. He was a 32nd-degree Mason of Crossett Lodge. Mr. Warfield, the husband of Geneva Warfield for 58 years, also leaves a sister, Willie Hildreth of Eddyville, Ky., and a brother, Leon Warfield of Kuttawa, Ky.
