DR. JOAN BRODE MANGUM, 76, of Bridgewater, Va., formerly of Collierville, retired professor from Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y., died of lymphoma Monday at Bridgewater Home. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Bridgewater Church of Brethren, where she was a member. Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater has charge. She was a graduate of Northwestern University in Chicago and Rutgers University and a member of Habitat for Humanity, Board of Common Ground and First Step. She leaves a sister, Mary Louise Mangum of Bridgewater. The family requests that memorials be sent to Bridgewater Church of the Brethren, Habitat for Humanity in Bridgewater, Trees for Life in Wichita, Kan., or Fellowship Reconciliation in Nyack, N.Y.

ROBERT PRATCHER, 67, of 776 Tate, Exxon station attendant, died of lung disease Sunday at his home. R. S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home has charge. He was a Baptist. Mr. Pratcher, the common law husband of Flora Frazier, also leaves nine daughters, Robbie Morton, Vera Dotson, Eddie Mae McKinney, Randa Hunt, Pearlie Ruck er, Lillian Wallace, Jackie Washington, Verlie Pratcher and Bridgett Terry, all of Memphis; three sisters, Bertha L. Williams and Teen Lipford, both of Memphis, and Ella Swan of Inglewood, Calif.; 10 brothers, Curtis Pratcher, Eugene Pratcher, Calvin Pratcher, Michael Pratcher, Curtis Hailey and Calvin Hailey, all of Memphis, Anthony C. Pratcher of Arizona, William Pratcher of Hawthorne, Calif., Leon Pratcher of Flint, Mich., and William Moss of Como, Miss., 42 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.

MABLE ROGERS, 63, of Memphis, homemaker, died of heart failure Tuesday at her home. N. J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Rogers, the widow of Johnny Rogers, leaves four sisters, Mary Ann Cooper of Memphis, and Sarah Walker, Rosie Walker and Tommie Simmons, all of Los Angeles, and two brothers, Will Walker of Chicago and Leroy Walker of Memphis.

THOMAS BOYKIN SKINNER, 71, of Clifton, Tenn., formerly of Germantown, general manager of The Memphis Catalogue Merchandise Distribution Center, died of cancer Monday at his home. Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with entombment in Memorial Park Mausoleum. He was a graduate of the University of Memphis, an Army veteran and a member of Memphis Rotary Club, Tennessee Business Association, Junior Achievement of Greater Memphis Board of Governors, Tennessee Manufacturers & Taxpayers Association, Summit Club and Germantown Presbyterian Church. Mr. Skinner, the husband of Pat Valentine Skinner, also leaves a daughter, Celia Paige Skinner of Memphis; two sons, Rodger Boykin Skinner of Germantown and Scott Alan Skinner of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, William Skinner of Argyle, Texas, and three grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Clifton First Presbyterian Church.

THELMA B. STEWART, 88, of Germantown, homemaker, died of heart failure Tuesday at Bright Glade Nursing Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Family Funeral Care Summer Avenue Chapel with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens. She was a member of East Win Christian Church. She leaves a daughter, V. Ann Jones of Germantown; three sons, Clyde H. Stewart of Cincinnati, Alex J. Stewart of Batavia, Ohio, and John C. Stewart of Ruffin, N.C., seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to East Win Christian Church Building Fund.

LEWIS TALIAFERRO, 79, of 1645 Britton, retired bricklayer, died of heart failure Saturday at UT Bowld Hospital. Services will be at noon Thursday at Macedonia Baptist Church Hyde Park, where he was a choir member and deacon, with burial at 10 a.m. Friday in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. M.J. Edwards and Sons Funeral Home has charge. He was a World War II veteran. Mr. Taliaferro, the husband of Callie Taliaferro, also leaves five daughters, Betty Jackson, Martha Taliaferro and Linda Todd, all of Memphis, Demetria Johnson of Dallas and Arlene Johnson of St. Paul, Minn.; three sons, Lawrence Taliaferro, Alfred Taliaferro and Patrick Taliaferro, all of Memphis; three sisters, Mae Bell Roberson of Memphis, Roxie Smith of St. Paul and Carrie Mae Taliaferro of Water Valley, Miss., 24 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Watkins for 60 years, also leaves four daughters, Carolyn Jane Davis of Pensacola, Fla., Mary Anne Creekmore of Bartlett, Linda C. Aldridge of Memphis and Sandra Joyce Gottfried of Collierville; a sister, Elanor Moak of Grenada, Miss.; a brother, Travis Moak of Natchez, Miss., six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel with burial in Greenwood cemetery there. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Blaylock, the husband of Charlayne Crabtree Pickett Blaylock, also leaves a daughter, Emily J. Beck of Portland, Ore.; a son, Wesley Henry Blaylock Jr. of Monroe, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Jan Pickett Griffin of Ventress, La.; a stepson, Hunter L. Pickett of Birmingham; a sister, June Mowrey of Marietta, Ga.; two brothers, Temple Blaylock of Chattanooga and Clyde Allen Blaylock of Marietta, and five grandchildren.
