MARJORIE NELLE SMITH HOUSE, 66, of Germantown, homemaker, died Monday at her home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Farmington Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder, Sunday school and vacation Bible school teacher and moderator of the church women, with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens. Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel has charge. She was a graduate of Treadwell High School. Mrs. House, the widow of Larry Wayne House, leaves a daughter, Vicki Leigh House Turner of Brentwood, Tenn.; a son, Barry Wayne House of Olive Branch; two sisters, Bettye Townsend of Germantown and Janis Goings of Destin, Fla.; two brothers, Ken Smith of Destin and Keith Smith of Germantown, and five grandchildren. PURVIS NASON LANE, 78, of Hot Springs, Ark., formerly of Memphis, died Monday in Hot Springs. He was a World War II Navy veteran and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2256 in Benton, Ark. Mr. Lane, the husband of Mary Sue Lane, also leaves two stepsons, David Terry of Hot Springs and Mark Terry of Mocksville, N.C.; his mother, Cora Taylor Lane of Memphis; three sisters, Sally Harper of Grenada, Miss., Peggy Muller of Atlanta and Mary Lane of Memphis, and four grandchildren.
