JAMES R. BENNETT, 74, of Memphis, retired machinist, died Oct. 14 at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Graveside services were Thursday at West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. Family Funeral Care Summer Avenue Chapel had charge. Mr. Bennett, the husband of Rose Bennett, also leaves a daughter, Wenita Grey of Little Rock; three sons, Bruce Bennett of Harrisburg, Ark., William Bennett of Memphis and Terry L. Bennett of Troy, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Freano of Memphis; two stepsons, James Freano of Oakland and John Freano of Memphis; a sister, Ruth Franks of Somerville; a brother, A. J. Bennett of Utica, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
