DAIL S. DODDS, 83, of Germantown, homemaker, died Friday at Southerland Place Assisted Living Facility in Germantown. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville, Miss., with burial in Liberty Memorial Gardens there. She was a member of Martin Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Booneville and a PTA officer in Memphis City Schools. Mrs. Dodds, the widow of Homer Dodds, leaves a son, Jerry Dodds of Collierville, and three grandchildren.

JAMES VERTREES GRIFFIN, 86, of Memphis, tire builder for Firestone Tire and Rubber, died Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Roller Family Funeral Home with burial in Northridge/Woodhaven cemetery in Millington. He was a member of Munford Church of Christ. Mr. Griffin, the widower of Vivian Irene Griffin, leaves two daughters, Gail Newbill of Munford and Martha Simpson of Covington; a son, Dan A. LEE E. JERNIGAN, 67, of Oviedo, Fla., formerly of Memphis, retired chief warrant officer for the Army, died Friday at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Retired Officers Association and the National Association for Uniformed Services. Mr. Jernigan, the husband of Rebecca James Jernigan, also leaves two sons, Steven L. Jernigan of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jeffrey K. Jernigan of Oviedo; two sisters, Billie Plunk of Memphis and Kathryn Pace of Moscow, and two grandchildren.
