Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Old St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in West Memphis with burial in Marion Memorial cemetery. Anthony Funeral Home in West Memphis has charge. He leaves four daughters, Beverly Ann Chaney, Carman Davis, Jackie Ruth and Alma Washington, and a son, Robert Lee Ruth Jr., all of Memphis; two sisters, Mary White of Dade County, Fla., and Mildred Hykes of Robinsonville, Miss.; a brother, Tommy Deal Jr. of Memphis, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was a National Guard veteran and a deacon at Somerville First Baptist Church. Dr. Brown, the husband of Norma Gail Brown for 58 years, also leaves a daughter, Drenna Brown McClure of St. Louis; a son, Dee Alan Brown of Marked Tree, Ark.; two sisters, Juanita McConnell of Seattle and Bonnie Scheibler of Bennington, Kan., and three grandsons.
