L. ESTELLE PETERSON, 68, of Memphis, retired from Plough Inc., died Saturday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with burial in Memory Hill Gardens. She was a member of Elliston Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Peterson, the wife of Quannah C. Peterson, also leaves a son, Richard Peterson of Conway, Ark.; a sister, Robbie Little, and a brother, Felix Frayser, both of Olive Branch, and two grandchildren.

WINONA LOUISE STALLINGS, 80, of West Memphis, formerly of Frenchman's Bayou, Ark., owner and operator of a retail grocery store, died Friday in West Memphis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roller-Swift Funeral Home in Osceola, Ark., with burial in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens there. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. Mrs. Stallings was the widow of Gene Stallings.

MARGARET M. STOCKDALE, 82, of Memphis, former city clerk for the City of Brinkley, Ark., died Saturday at Wesley Highland Manor. Services will be at noon Tuesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. She was a member of Brinkley First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Stockdale, the widow of John D. Stockdale, leaves two daughters, Susan Armstrong of Grove City, Ohio, and Mary Kay Bradley of Walls; a brother, DeWitt Myers of Florida, four grandchildren and five grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Brinkley First United Methodist Church.

SEMMIE WOODDELL, 98, of Germantown, retired from Sears, died Saturday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Bethel cemetery in Atoka. She was a member of Galloway Methodist Church. Mrs. Wooddell, the widow of Fred Wooddell, leaves a daughter, Joyce Aviotti of Germantown; a sister, Lois Belote, and a brother, John M. Sullivan, both of Memphis, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

BESSIE ADAMS, 78, of Cordova, formerly of Ripley, Tenn., homemaker, died Friday at Saint Francis Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Crossview Baptist Church in Ripley, where she was a member, with burial in Maplewood cemetery there. Garner Funeral Home in Ripley has charge. She leaves seven daughters, Mary Dunham and Betty Roper, both of Millington, Jo Ann Rodriguez and Sherry Roebuck, both of Ripley, Betty Ferris of Atoka, Glenda Hafford of Cordova and Pam Elliott of Halls, Tenn.; three sons, Tommy Adams of Ripley, Don Adams of Arlington and Randy Adams of Dyer, Tenn.; three sisters, Martha Jones of Ripley, Paulene Wilson of Henning, Tenn., and Glen Brawley of Millington; three brothers, O'Neal Howell and Billy Howell, both of Ripley, and Freddy Howell of Savannah, Tenn., 33 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

JUDY CAROL ANDERSON, 49, of Southaven, died Friday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven with burial in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens there. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Anderson, the wife of Michael Anderson, also leaves a daughter, Amy Anderson, and a son, Luke Anderson, both of Southaven; three sisters, Karen Hartsfield of Brighton, Christine Roberts of Ripley and Cathy Cianciolo of Olive Branch, and a grandchild. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

HAL PITTMAN BAILEY, 97, of Memphis, retired cotton broker, died Friday at Allen Morgan Health Center. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park. Mr. Bailey, the widower of Eleanor Henry Bailey, leaves a son, Ted Bailey of Memphis, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. John's United Methodist Church, the Trezevant Foundation or Church Health Center.

JOHN F. BOWIE, 86, of Memphis, retired Navy engineer after 21 years and retired plant operator for TVA after 25 years, died Friday at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kensington Baptist Church, where he was a founding member, with burial in Forest Hill cemetery East. Forest Hill Funeral Home East has charge. He was a World War II veteran who received the Pearl Harbor Medal, was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association Tennessee Chapter 2 and marched in President Roosevelt's inauguration. Mr. Bowie, the widower of Elvern Bowie, leaves a son, Tom Bowie of Olive Branch, and two grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Kensington Baptist Church.

Family Funeral Care Stage Road Chapel has charge. She was a former president of the Ladies Auxiliary at Gateway Rescue Mission in Jackson, Miss. Mrs. Easley, the widow of Clyde M. Easley, leaves two sons, Dr. Bob Easley of McDonald, Tenn., and Hartwell Easley of Memphis; two brothers, Joseph Caldwell of Temple, Texas, and Roy Caldwell of New Albany, Miss., six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
