ALTON R. EDMISTON, 65, of Memphis, retired supervisor of systems and new development of Memphis Light, Gas & Water Division, died Friday at Methodist Healthcare-Germantown. Family Funeral Care Summer Avenue Chapel has charge. He was a Navy veteran. Mr. Edmiston, the husband of Bonnie Smith Edmiston for 41 years, also leaves a son, Donald S. Edmiston of Memphis; two sisters, Lucille Rayburn of Memphis and Juanita Anderson of Orange, Calif.; a brother, James H. Edmiston Jr. of Memphis, and a grandson. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

She was a member of the mother board at Victory Temple Outreach Ministry. Mrs. Edwards, the widow of Charles Edwards, leaves two daughters, Ilein Wooten and Brenda E. Rice; four sons, Larry Braddock, Charles Edwards, James Easley and Aundra Douglass, and two brothers, John Frank Ray and Bobby Ray, all of Memphis, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
