A. D. SMITH, 70, of Arlington, former employee of Iver and Ponds Piano Factory, died Saturday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Gallaway, Tenn., with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. Mason (Tenn.) Funeral Home has charge. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of Belmont Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Smith, the husband of Rosie Jones Smith, also leaves five daughters, Palestine Howell of Jackson, Tenn., and Margie Vaughn, Sharon Jones, Castanya Austin and Sherea Smith, all of Memphis; five sons, Calvin Jones of Indianapolis, Alvin Smith and Kenneth Smith, both of Arlington, and Shelton Smith and Rodney Smith, both of Memphis; a sister, Mary Lee Smith of Arlington, and 14 grandchildren.

LAVERN LEONARD 'BUD' WILKERSON, 91, of Memphis, former owner of Otasco Retail Store in Hugoton, Kan., died Monday at American Transitional Rehab & Specialty Care. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, Miss., with burial in Oxford Memorial cemetery. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Trafalgar Village Baptist Church, the Rotary Club and the Lions Club. Mr. Wilkerson, the widower of Dorothy Jane Crawford Wilkerson, leaves a son, Gary Wilkerson of Memphis, and two grandchildren.
