JOEL WAYNE HUTCHINSON, 68, of Brighton, Tenn., self-employed electrician, died Wednesday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Beth Salem cemetery in Ackerman, Miss. National Funeral Home in Clarksdale, Miss., has charge. He was a Baptist and an Army veteran. Mr. Hutchinson, the husband of Joyce Hutchinson, also leaves four daughters, Linda Stambaugh, Melissa Hutchinson and Wendy Beyer, all of Brighton, and Vickie Huestis of Kingsland, Ga.; a son, Michael Hutchinson of Southaven, seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

TIMOTHY JACKSON, 34, of Memphis, employee of John & Son Lawn Services, died Wednesday at Methodist Healthcare-University Hospital. M. J. Edwards & Sons Funeral Home has charge. He was a member of Word of God Deliverance Temple Church. He leaves a son, Justin Jackson; his mother, Earlean Jackson; seven sisters, Gwen Harris, Yvonne Barlow, Lovell Thomas, Priscilla Braden, Ora L. Mitchell, Minnie Hall and Voytres Hale, and four brothers, James Jackson, George Jackson, Harvey Jackson and Willie Jackson, all of Memphis; his grandmother, Emma L. Williams of Nesbit, and a companion with whom he lived, Valarie Jones of Memphis.

JACK L. JOHNSON, 66, of Olive Branch, formerly of Memphis, senior sales specialist for FedEx, died Thursday at his home. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with entombment in Memorial Park Mausoleum. He was a member of Central Church. Mr. Johnson, the husband of Joyce Maddox Johnson for 43 years, also leaves a daughter, Deborah Law, and a son, Jeff Johnson, both of Olive Branch; a sister, June Bailey of Collierville; two brothers, Joe Johnson of Memphis and Dale Johnson of Boulder, Colo., and six grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.

JAMES JOHNSON, 86, of Turrell, Ark., farmer, died Sept. 12 at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Anthony Funeral Home in West Memphis with burial in New Bethel cemetery in Clarkedale, Ark. He leaves three daughters, Brenda Johnson of Turrell, and Cassie Massey and Barbara Johnson, both of Marion; six sons, Willie Johnson, Charles Johnson and Samuel Johnson, all of West Memphis, Otis Johnson and Stanley Johnson, both of Turrell, and Leon Johnson of Marion; a sister, L. B. Love of Chicago, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She leaves a daughter, Beatrice Butcher of Memphis; a son, Osie Lee of Davenport, Iowa; a sister, Lula Cotton of Memphis, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

EFFIE D. 'GREASIE' LEWIS, 75, of Millington, homemaker, died Wednesday at Methodist Healthcare-North. Services will be at noon Saturday at St. Mark Baptist Church in Wilkinsville, Tenn., with burial in Restland Memorial Garden in Atoka, Tenn. Jefferson Mortuary in Millington has charge. She was a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Dixonville, Tenn., and foster grandparent for St. William's Headstart in Millington. Mrs. Lewis, the widow of Elton Lewis, leaves three daughters, Varye G. Mitchell of Elkhart, Ind., and Bessie Anderson and Norris Lewis, both of Millington; five sons, Elton Lewis Jr. of Coldwater, Miss., Charles Lewis and Carl Lewis, both of Millington, and Curtis Wayne Lewis and Randy Lewis, both of Lansing, Mich., 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. List, the wife of Edwin List, also leaves a daughter, Tracie Johnson, and a son, Chris Johnson, both of Arlington; three stepdaughters, Rondell Bosquez and Jessica List, both of Memphis, and Tammy Ekstam of St. Louis; two stepsons, Bradley List of Memphis and Toby List of Lakeland; a sister, Martha Hunt of Waynesboro, Tenn.; a brother, Billy DePriest, and four grandchildren. Mr. McKinney, the husband of Betty Cooper McKinney, also leaves a daughter, Sheila Ann Warner of Memphis; two sons, Thomas Lloyd Higgins of Memphis and James W. Starks of Brunswick, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Julie Abernathy of Memphis; a stepson, David A. Hall of Morristown, Tenn.; a sister, Dimple Irene Munn of Jackson, Calif., two grandchildren and six stepgrandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

Mr. Newman, the husband of Bettye Ayers Newman for 53 years, also leaves a daughter, Margaret Michelle Sharlow of Christiansburg, Va.; a son, Robert Aubrey Newman Jr. of Nokomis, Fla.; four sisters, Mae Wallace, Tiny Walsh and Frances Hauf, all of Florida, and Lucille Wade of Missouri, and four grandchildren. Mr. Pickett, the widower of Thelma Pickett, leaves a daughter, Orrelia Boram of Memphis; four sisters, Emma Williams and Thelma Walton, both of Memphis, and Constance Walker and Augustine Pickett, both of Los Angeles; four brothers, Heiskell Pickett of Memphis, Clovis Pickett and Fountaine Pickett, both of Chicago, and James Pickett of Los Angeles, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
