JANETTE AKIN, 71, of Millington, sales clerk at the Navy Exchange Commissary, died Friday at her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel with burial in Helen Crigger cemetery. She was a member of East Acres Baptist Church. She leaves two daughters, Diane Pearson and Jan Ballard, both of Burlison; a brother, Dink Allred Jr. of Tupelo, Miss., and four grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Methodist Alliance Hospice.

HOLLEN HARGROVE BARKLEY, 92, of Hermitage, Tenn., formerly of Memphis, retired from M.M. Cohen, died Friday at Nashville. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Memorial Park cemetery. Mrs. Barkley, the widow of Roy Leon Barkley, leaves a daughter, Gail Nicar of Franklin; a son, Gary L. Barkley of Hermitage, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Prescott Baptist Church.

MARGARETTE BARNES, 86, of Collierville, homemaker, died Monday at her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in Forest Hill cemetery East. She was a member of Collierville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Barnes, the widow of J.W. Barnes, leaves two daughters, Barbara Houck of Collierville and Donna Hardin of Como, Miss.; a son, James A. Barnes of Olive Branch, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

DELLA MAE BETHEL, 72, homemaker, died Thursday at Methodist Healthcare-University Hospital. N.J. Ford and Sons Funeral Home has charge. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Bethel, the widow of Robert Bethel, also leaves three sons, D.L. Woodley, Arthur Stitts and Robert Bethel Jr., and a stepdaughter, Carrie Johnson, all of Memphis, 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

SILVIO J. BOSI, 88, of Memphis, retired owner of Bosi and Sons Grocery, died Friday at Saint Francis Hospital. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Little Flower Catholic Church with burial in Calvary. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul and the Italian Society. Mr. Bosi, the husband of Magdalene F. Bosi, also leaves two daughters, Sylvia B. Creedon of Collierville and Deborah B. Jenkins of Memphis; three sons, Robert J. Bosi, Edward A. Bosi and Eugene M. Bosi, and a sister, Dolly B. Pierantoni, all of Memphis; a brother, Joseph Bosi of West Memphis, 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Poor Clares Monastery or Madonna Day School.

EUGENE M. BOSWELL, 71, of Bartlett, formerly of Covington, retired shipping clerk for International Harvester, died Saturday at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home in Covington with burial in R.H. Munford cemetery there. He was a member of Ellendale Baptist Church, UAW Local 988 and Fraser Masonic Lodge 746 and was a Navy veteran. Mr. Boswell, the husband of Mary Boswell, also leaves a daughter, Burma Grayson of Bartlett; a son, Myron Boswell of Memphis; a brother, Mick ie Boswell of Oakland, and two grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.

JODY M. BYNUM, 19, of Cordova, student at Columbia School of Broadcasting, died Thursday at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and a graduate of Cordova High School. He leaves his parents, Jance D. and Michael D. Bynum, and his brothers, Christopher Bynum and John Bynum, all of Cordova; his grandparents, Wilma and Forrest Bynum of Mountain Home, Ark., and his great-grandmother, Novie Gaskins of Wynne, Ark. The family requests that memorials be made to American Lymphoma Society.

PAUL AARON CHAPMAN, 90, of Ashland, Miss., formerly of Memphis, retired from Sealtest Dairies, died Saturday at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley, Miss. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Memphis Memory Gardens. Family Funeral Care Summer Avenue Chapel has charge. He was a member of Quails Unlimited. Mr. Chapman, the husband of Kathryn Wise Chapman for 62 years, also leaves two sons, Paul C. Chapman of Falkner, Miss., and Mike W. Chapman of Ashland; a sister, Bernice Van Horn of Hughes, Ark., and two stepsisters, Linda Chapman and Nancy Chapman, both of Memphis, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. FRANK EDWARD COLEMAN, 77, of Memphis, regional sales manager at Kendall Co., died Friday at Saint Francis Hospital. He was a World War II Navy veteran who received the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with one star, the American Theatre Medal, the Philippine Operations Medal and the Victory Medal. Mr. Coleman, the husband of Dorothy Nash Coleman for 50 years, also leaves two daughters, Nancy Coleman Lanigan and Kay Coleman Johnson, and three sons, Frank Edward Coleman Jr., Jack Matthew Coleman and David Michael Coleman, all of Memphis; a brother, James Preston Coleman of New Orleans, and nine grandchildren. She was a member of Arlington Church of Christ. Mrs. Haley, the wife of Thomas Austin Haley, also leaves two daughters, Melinda Thompson of Memphis and Karen Haley Hjerpe of Oakland; two sons, Paul W. Haley of Arlington and Tharen E. Haley of Bolivar; a sister, Gwinda Colson of Memphis, and six grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Memphis School of Preaching.

Houck Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite and was a World War II Navy veteran who received the American Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Mr. Raney, the husband of Era Gustafson Raney, also leaves a daughter, Betty Jones of Olive Branch; a brother, H.E. Kyle of Memphis, six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to Liberty Memorial Baptist Church.
