CHARLES 'BOB' BLANCETT, 91, of Memphis, retired maintenance supervisor for Memphis Housing Authority after 30 years, died Sunday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Family Funeral Care Summer Avenue Chapel with burial in Elmwood. He was a member of Lindenwood Christian Church, a Mason and a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Blancett, the widower of Clara Mae Blancett, leaves two sons, Bobby Blancett and George Blancett, and a half-sister, Doris Thompson, all of Memphis, six grandchildren and eight stepgrandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.

GRANT BOARDMAN, 22, of Memphis, student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, died Friday in Knoxville. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park. He was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the Golden Key National Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi honor society fraternity, the UT-Knoxville Judo Club and Tennessee Students for Free Thought. He was a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable and a charter member of their Top of the Table program, the Memphis Estate Planning Council, president of the Memphis CLU chapter, was Equitable Hall of Honor agent in 1972, a World War II Army veteran, a former member of Kiwanis and The Committee of 100 for the FedEx St. Jude Classic golf tournament, and served on the boards of Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center and the Chickasaw Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Hughes, the husband of Sue Cheek Smith Hughes for 52 years, also leaves two daughters, Susan Hoehn of San Diego and Frazer Hendrick of Haymarket, Va.; a son, Burr Hughes III of Memphis; three sisters, Agnes Dixon of Atlanta, Yancey Daniel of Columbia, S.C., and Betty Kaldenbaugh of Tucson, Ariz., and 10 grandchildren.
