E. V. RAMSEY, 78, of Coldwater, Miss., retired construction worker, died Sunday at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Avenue Church of Christ in Coldwater with burial in Second Baptist Church cemetery. Family Mortuary has charge. He was a member of Cistern Hill Baptist Church in Como, Miss. Mr. Ramsey, the widower of Ruthie Mae Ramsey, leaves nine daughters, Josephine Moore, Gloria Perkins and Sharon Logan, all of Coldwater, Mae Dora Johnson of Meridian, Miss., Bonnie Williams, Rosie Zella Rodgers and Peggie Mackins, all of Memphis, Evelyn Carr of Detroit and Patricia Echols of Birmingham; five sons, Joe Lee Ramsey, L. V. Ramsey and Willie Earl Ramsey, all of Memphis, Ananias Boyd of Chicago and Thurman Ramsey of Detroit; two sisters, Lou Ella Pope of Pennsylvania and Lady Mae Brown of Cleveland; three brothers, Ozell Ramsey of Valdosta, Ga., Willie Ramsey of Holly Springs, Miss., and Van Ramsey of Coldwater, 42 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

PETER A. SCHWARTZ, 83, of Memphis, retired Navy commander, died Monday at Allen Morgan Health Care. Services will be at 8 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. He was a communicant of St. Michael Catholic Church and a member of the Retired Officers Association, Military Order of World Wars, Association of Naval Aviation, Naval Reserve Association, Tailhookers and Berlin Airlift Association. Mr. Schwartz, the husband of Martha Schwartz, also leaves a daughter, Rebecca Schwartz-Guinard of Boulder, Colo.; three sons, Peter A. Schwartz II of Virginia Beach, Timothy Schwartz of Winter Park, Fla., and John Schwartz of Longwood, Fla.; two sisters, Peggy O'Rouke of New Orleans and Patricia Barnthson of Galva, Kan., and seven grandchildren.

PEARL B. SCOTT, 101, of Grapeland, Texas, formerly of Memphis, retired teacher from Memphis City Schools after 40 years, died Sunday in Grapeland. Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park. Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge. She was a graduate of Normal State Teachers College, Sienna College and the University of Oklahoma, founding member of Christ United Methodist Church and member of the Beethoven Club, Nineteenth Century Club and Sunshine Home board of directors. She leaves a son, Walter Scott Jr. of Grapeland, three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was a World War II Navy veteran, former photographer for Acme News Pictures and the New York Daily News and charter member of National Press Photographers Association.
