CHARLES DOMINIC PESCE, 83, of Memphis, vice president of Liberty Cash Grocery, died Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church, where he was a communicant, with burial in Calvary. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. Mr. Pesce, the husband of Mamie Vescovi Pesce for 61 years, also leaves two daughters, Elizabeth Pesce Tartt of Memphis and Carolyn Pesce Keane of Bartlett; a sister, Mary Ventrini of Memphis; a brother, Felix Pesce of Bartlett, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Paul Catholic Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Ronald McDonald House.

CHARLES L. PFEIFFER, 75, of Germantown, retired safety engineer and boiler inspector from Royal Globe Insurance Co., died Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Family Funeral Care Summer Avenue Chapel with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. He was a member of Germantown Baptist Church and a Korean War Navy Sea Bee veteran. Mr. Pfeiffer, the husband of Catherine Pfeiffer for 51 years, also leaves a daughter, Cathy Horobetz of Germantown; two sons, Carl Pfeiffer of Arlington and Charles Pfeiffer Jr. of Woodbridge, Va.; his mother, Virginia Pfeiffer King of Germantown, and five grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.

LOVIE M. PHILLIPS, 94, of Byhalia, Miss., homemaker, died Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Byhalia with burial in the church cemetery. Gillespie Funeral Home in Olive Branch has charge. Mrs. Phillips, the widow of Peter Phillips, leaves a daughter, Almeater Smith of Memphis; two sons, Peter L. Phillips of Byhalia and Almous Phillips of Memphis, eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

JAMES LEROY PICKLE, 78, of Memphis, supervisor for Polar Krate Boating Co. for 36 years and retired from Southern Fabricators, died Wednesday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with burial in Memory Hill Gardens. He was a member of Ellendale Baptist Church and a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Pickle, the husband of Reba Pickle for 56 years, also leaves three daughters, Joyce Hixson and Peggy Edwards, both of Memphis, and Marty Pearce; a sister, Virginia Neil of Puck ett, Miss.; a brother, Leighton Pickle of McAdams, Miss., seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Piper, the husband of Helen B. Piper for 51 years, also leaves a daughter, Connie Ripkowski of Calallen, Texas; his mother, Mildred Piper of Alberta, Canada; a sister, Gladys Pierce of Bartlett, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
