LAURA ASHLYNN MERZ, 2-year-old daughter of Pamela and Paul Merz of Olive Branch, died Tuesday in Olive Branch of injuries in an auto accident. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Hope Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in Memorial Park Southwoods. Brantley Funeral Home of Olive Branch has charge. She also leaves a sister, Hayley Monroe of Olive Branch, and her grandparents, Jeanette M. Merz of Memphis and Charlotte and James P. Hogan of Bartlett. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Hope Baptist Church Children's Ministry.

OSCAR MILES, 76, of Millington, retired Navy Seabee after 23 years, died of pneumonia Thursday at Methodist Healthcare-North. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Bartlett Funeral Home Bartlett Station Chapel with burial in West Tennessee Veterans cemetery. He was a member of Millington Second Baptist Church and a World War II veteran. Mr. Miles, the husband of Eva Sue Miles for 38 years, also leaves two daughters, Susan Itterly and Amika Henley, and two brothers, Mark Stafford and Walter Adam Miles, all of Millington; a brother, Lewis Miles of Nashville, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. WILLIE MAE NICKENS, 72, of Memphis, retired teacher for the Memphis and Arkansas Board of Education, died of heart failure Thursday at Methodist Healthcare-Central. R. S.
