Mrs. Lizzie Tomlin Daughrity, age 89, of Chapel Hill, died Tuesday morning, July 30, at NHC Lewisburg, following an extended illness. Mrs. Daughrity was a native of Marshall County and a daughter of the late John Wesley and Emma Jean Ingram Daughrity. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Daughrity, who died in 1998. Mrs. Daughrity was a member of the Chapel Hill Church of Christ She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Fant, of Nashville and Mrs. Linda Joy Jones, of Lewisburg; seven sons, Ed and Donald Daughrity, of Lewisburg, Philip, James, Harold, Gary and Ricky Daughrity, all of Chapel Hill; a sister, Mrs. Lou Ellen Hosford, of Franklin; a brother, Leslie Tomlin, of Lewisburg, twenty-six grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 1, at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with her grandson, Kevin Daughrity officiating. Burial will follow at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chapel Hill Elementary School Library or the Forrest Alumni Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Mrs. Sylvia Gail Blalock Edwards

Mrs. Sylvia Gail Blalock Edwards, age 50 of Shelbyville, died Thursday, July 24, in Williamson Medical Center. Mrs. Edwards was a native of Marshall County, daughter of the late Enoch Ethridge Blalock and the late Mary Lucille Blalock Jett. She was an employee of Eaton Corporation in Shelbyville. She is survived by two sons, Troy Edwards of Rockwall, North Carolina and Tony Edwards of Shelbyville; 3 brothers, Charles Blalock and Douglas Blalock, of Lewisburg, and Joe Blalock, of Bedford County; six sisters, Mary Stewart, Ellen Boshers, Linda Joyce, and Shirley Hedrick, all of Lewisburg, Helen Peters and Erma Blalock, both of Columbia; and 4 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday evening, July 27, at 6:00 p.m. by Charles Lee, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in memory of Gail.

Henry Maples Hargrove

Henry Maples Hargrove, age 61, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday evening, July 24, in Vanderbilt Medical Center following a recent truck accident. Mr. Hargrove was a native of Alabama and the son of the late Robert Arney and Sarah Elizabeth Thompson Hargrove. He was employed with Mealer Trucking Company and was a Viet Nam veteran. He is survived by his wife, Teresa McCord Hargrove, of Lewisburg; a son Matt Hargrove, of Lewisburg; two sisters, Patricia Skinner, of Lewisburg and Gail Lindsey, of Nashville; three brothers, Leslie (Buddy) Hargrove, of Belfast, Thomas Hargrove, of Louisiana and Jerry Wayne Beard, of Loretto and one granddaughter, Audrey Kaylyn Hargrove. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 27, at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home, in Lewisburg, with burial in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family was at London Funeral Home on Friday, July 26, after 4:00 p.m. and Saturday until the funeral hour for visitation. Pallbearers were Danny Mealer, Tim Mealer, Keith Compton, Terry Dalton, Grady Kimbrough and Wayne Mason. Honorary pallbearers were the employees of Mealer Trucking Company.

Mrs. Velma Webster McCollum

Mrs. Velma Webster McCollum, age 89, of Belfast, died Friday morning, July 26, in Marshall Medical Center Mrs. McCollum was a native of Giles County and daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Selma Luna Webster. She was the widow of Roy McCollum, a homemaker and member of Liberty Valley Church of Christ. She is survived by three daughters, Norma Kaye Hopper and Kathie Ann Beard, both of Belfast, and Willie Carole Garner, of Pulaski; two sons, Joe Layne McCollum, of Sheppard, Texas and Stephen Odell McCollum, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two sisters, Frances Poole, of the Ostella Community and Barbara McConnell, of Cornersville, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Gayle McCollum; two brothers, Odell Webster and William Webster. Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, July 28, at 2:00 p.m. in Round Hill Cemetery with Harold Foster officiating. The family was at the London Funeral Home in Lewisburg after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28, until the funeral hour for visitation. Pallbearers were Mike McCollum, Donnie Hopper, Steve Hopper, Johnny Beard, Jim Beard and Chris Garner.

Michael Prier

Michael Prier, age 52, of Pulaski, died Thursday evening, July 25, at Hillside Hospital in Pulaski. He was the son of R. W. and Mamie Prier, who survive. In addition to his parents, he is survived by four sons, Michael Prier, of Florida, Steven Prier, of Arizona, Jessie and Willie Prier, both of Goodspring; one daughter, Tammy Prier, of Chapel Hill; three brothers, Kenneth Prier, of Pulaski, Wayne Prier, of Elkton and Don Prier, of Lewisburg; two sisters, Carolyn Moore of Columbia and Jane Kincaid, of Pulaski and two grandchildren. Visitation with the family was held on Sunday, July 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Carr and Erwin Funeral Home in Pulaski. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 29, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Carr and Erwin Funeral Home with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Lillian Scott, age 83, of Sumac Road in Pulaski, died on Monday, July 29, at the Oakwood Nursing Home in Lewisburg. She was born in Nashville on September 10, 1918, retired from Roberta Lee Dress Factory, the daughter of the late James Henry and Mary Tate Elder and the widow of John Scott. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at the Carr and Erwin Funeral Home in Pulaski, with burial in Maplewood Cemetery Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, July 30, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. She is survived by a sister, Pauline Cozart, of California and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Alatha Whitehead, age 79, of Pulaski, died Friday, July 26, at her home. Mrs. Whitehead was a native of Giles County and the daughter of the late James and May Wiser. She is survived by her husband, John Whitehead, of Pulaski, one son, John W. Whitehead, of Charlottsville, Virginia, a brother, Kenneth Leavis Wiser, of Hendersonville and five grandchildren. Visitation with the family was held on Saturday, July 27, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home in Pulaski. Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 28, at 2:00 p.m. at the Carr and Erwin Funeral Home with burial in Giles Memorial Garden.

Wilbert "BINK" Melvin Bishop, Sr.

Wilbert "BINK" Melvin Bishop, Sr., age 64, died Friday, October 4, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Oleane Bishop of Louisville, Kentucky. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Katheryn Bishop of Lewisburg; four daughters, Celecia Brown and Wilma Harley, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sonya Albert of Murfreesboro and Ebony Bishop of Lewisburg; two sons, Karl Fisher of Lewisburg, and Wilbert M. Bishop, Jr. of Fayetteville; two sisters, Everline Crowell of Lewisburg and Edith Rowan of Louisville, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Mr. Bishop lay-in-state on Monday, October 7, from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at JB Mayberry and Son Chapel in Lewisburg. Visitation with the family was held on Monday, October 7, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at JB Mayberry & Son Chapel. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, October 8, at 1:00 p.m. at Ransom Chapel Presbyterian Church. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Belfast.

Funeral services for Mrs. Loma Bryant, age 73, who passed away Sunday, October 6, at her residence, will be conducted Wednesday, October 9, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant Funeral Home in Fayetteville, with Rev. Winfred Stayton officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Bryant was a native of Lincoln County, a homemaker and a member of the Gum Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Wilson of Lewisburg, two sons, Danny Ray Bryant of Flintville and Stanley Joe Bryant of New Market, Alabama; two sisters, Maude Simmons of Flintville and Hazel Kennermer of New Market, Alabama; two brothers, W. C. Arnold of Fayetteville and Bill Arnold of Taft; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gallant Funeral Home.

Robert Lee Holman, age 61, of Lewisburg died Saturday, October 5, following an extended illness. He is survived by his mother Truly Mai Foxx of Petersburg, his wife, Durlean Holman of Lewisburg; four children, Liz Hightower of Lewisburg, Cheryl Thomison, Danny Holman and Sandra Kimbrough, all of Murfreesboro; one step-son, Fufus Dailey of Lewisburg; two sisters, Sally McKinney of Lewisburg and Mattie Greer of Shelbyville; seven brothers, Timmy Foxx of Smyrna, Ricky Foxx of Murfreesboro, Dennis Foxx of Shelbyville, Andy Foxx of Pulaski, Calvin Foxx, Bobby Foxx and Willie M. Foxx, all of Lewisburg. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, at JB Mayberry Chapel in Lewisburg from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 9, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lewisburg Church of God, 810 West Church Street in Lewisburg. Burial will follow at the Mulberry Cemetery in Mulberry.

William Roy Pugh, Sr.

William Roy Pugh, Sr., age 90, of Chapel Hill, died Saturday evening, October 5 in Lewisburg after an extended illness. Mr. Pugh was a native of Rutherford County and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Chapel Hill. He was employed as a custodian at Forrest School for 22 years and later retired from Henry Horton State Park after 10 years of service. In addition, Mr. Pugh was a life long farmer. Mr. Pugh was the son of the late William Webb and Annie Holton Pugh. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kathleen Davis Pugh of Chapel Hill; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Mealer, of Chapel Hill; a son, William R. (Bud) Pugh, Jr. of Chapel Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Ora Peek of Shelbyville and Mrs. Mae Batten of the Wheel Community of Marshall County; a brother, Glenn Pugh of Unionville; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation began at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Walters and Rev. Tim McGehee officiating. Burial followed in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill. Active pallbearers were Norman Henson, Billy Purdom, Earl Wright, Tom Brown, Hoyte Haskins, Tim Hill, Ronnie Curtis and Joe Coble. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Forrest High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.

Victor A. Albanese

Victor Albanese, age 64 of Lewisburg, died Tuesday evening, November 26, at his residence. The New York native was the son of the late Adam Albanese and Mrs. Carolyn Newman Albanese. He was an engineer in telecommunications, and most recently employed by Wal-Mart of Lewisburg. Vic is survived by his wife, Debra Bell Albanese of Lewisburg; 2 sons, Wes Albanese of Houston, Texas and Joe Albanese of Murfreesboro; his mother, Mrs. Carolyn Albanese of Manlius, New York; and a sister, Carol Cable of Hampstead, Maryland. To celebrate Vic's life, the family visited with friends and relatives Saturday, November 30, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home in Lewisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Highland Rim, 705 Trotwood Ave, Columbia, TN 38401. Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in memory of Vic.

Mrs. Alice H. Brown, age 85, of the Clay Hill Community of Marshall County, died Tuesday, December 3, in Lewisburg, after an extended illness. Mrs. Brown was a native of Marshall County and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Clay Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Lewiston and Liola Hardison and was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Brown, who died in 1994. There are no immediate survivors. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, December 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg with Rev. Joe Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.

Steve Edmondson, age 48, of Chapel Hill, died Friday November 29, at his residence in Chapel Hill after an extended illness. Mr. Edmondson was a son of the late James Ollie "Bud" Edmondson and Mrs. Margie Fagan Edmondson who survives. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sisters, Betty Buhler of the Verona Community; Kay Dalton of Lewisburg and Peggy Davidson of Dickson; a brother, Tim Edmondson, of Smyrna. Visitation with the family began at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, at the Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Brother Philip Bennett officiating. Burial followed in Swanson Cemetery.

Clifford E. (Gene) Reynolds, age 91, died Sunday evening, December 1, in Marshall Medical Center. Mr. Reynolds was a native of Marshall County, the son of Charlie and Argin Braden Reynolds, a retired machinist with Faber-Castell Corp. and a member of the Church Street Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Hill Reynolds; a daughter, Gayle Reynolds, and a sister, Sara McCollum, all of Lewisburg. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, December 3, at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with Charles Williamson, James Watkins and Jason Moon officiating. Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family was at London Funeral Home in Lewisburg after 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, for visitation. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Church Street Church of Christ Scholarship Fund. Pallbearers were Ross Beckham, Herbert Caderas, Benny Matthews, Jim Bingham, David Jent, and Melvin Willoughby.

Mrs. Lillian Elkins Shearin, age 93, of the Rover Community of Bedford County, died Sunday morning, December 1, at Bedford County Medical Center following an extended illness. She was a native of Bell Buckle and a daughter of the late Edward Harrison and Johnnie Rucker Elkins. Mrs. Shearin was a retired schoolteacher, having taught school for 39 years in Bedford County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Graves (Bill) Shearin, who died in 1976. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family began at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, at the Rover Baptist Church in the Rover Community of Bedford County with Rev. Ronnie Grooms and Rev. David Wall officiating. Visitation was also held at the church on Tuesday, after 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial followed at the Simpson Cemetery in Bedford County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rover Baptist Church Building Fund, 202 Baptist Church Rd., Eagleville, TN 37060.

Mrs. Era Taylor, age 82, died Wednesday, November 27th at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ in Cornersville, and the wife of Willie Dee Taylor, who proceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Robert Taylor and Paul Taylor, both of Lewisburg, and David Taylor of Columbus, Ohio; five daughters, Haticile Burhanan, Marla Taylor, and Eileen Horton, of Nashville, Renee McKevier of Atlanta, Georgia and Roxie Foster of North Carolina and fifteen grandchildren. Her body laid-in-state on Saturday, November 30, from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Mayberry Funeral Home in Lewisburg and at the Fairview Church of Christ in Cornersville on Sunday, December 1 from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. Burial followed at the Beechwood Cemetery in Cornersville.

Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Davis Wallace

Mrs. Dorothy Davis "Dot" Wallace, age 79 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, November 26, at Maryville Healthcare Center. Mrs. Wallace was retired from the Tennessee Department of Employment Security, an active member in the Women's Golf Association at Green Meadow, the Knoxville Area Women's Golf Association and the Smokey Mountain Bridge Club. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, George B. Wallace of Maryville; daughter, Anne Wallace of Maryville; one son, George Wallace of Lebanon; sister-in-law, Jane Wallace Alford of Lewisburg; brother-in-law, John L. Wallace of Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews. The family received friends Saturday, November 30, after 4:00 p.m. at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home in Lewisburg. Graveside services were conducted Sunday, December 1, at 2:00 p.m. in Lone Oak Cemetery with Rev. Leland Carden officiating. The family requests memorials may be made to the Blount Co. Library, 508 N. Cusick St., Maryville, TN 37804, or the Blount Co. Children's Home, 903 McCammon Ave., Maryville, TN 37804.
