February 6, at the Smith County Memorial Hospital. He is survived by:
mother, Robbie Washer of South Carthage; children, Lisa Washer of
Gainesboro, Dale Washer of Gordonsville, and Mindy Washer of Carthage;
wife, Wanda Washer of Carthage; sisters, Jewel Rigsby of Lebanon, Betty
Gibbs of South Carthage, Joyce Bennett of South Carthage, and Willa Dean
Thaxton of South Carthage; brothers, Bernice Washer of Lock Seven, Billy
Washer of Brush Creek, Larry Washer of Elmwood, Ronnie Washer of
Gordonsville, and Randy Washer of Lebanon; 5 grandchildren.
Mr. Washer's remains are at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home
where his service will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with
Bro. Richard Blackburn and Bro. Frank Carter officiating. Interment in
the Gordonsville Cemetery.

12 noon until 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at
1:00 p.m.

Mr. Marvin Lynch, age 78, of Carthage, died Friday morning, May 9, at
the Smith County Memorial Hospital. She is survived by: wife, Mary Lou
Lynch; daughters, Ruby Goodman, Louise Butler, Frances Butler, and Sherry
Grisham all of Carthage; step-children, Joann Cardwell of Lebanon and
Harold Huffines of Lebanon; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Junior Marsh, age 60, of Carthage, died Friday evening, May 30, at
the Smith County Memorial Hospital. He is survived by: wife, Mary Marsh;

Loralyn Edwards of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; mother, Edith Pedigo of Gamaliel,

Tillman Payne II
Mr. Tillman Payne, of the Bluff Creek Community, died Friday morning, July
11, at his home. He is survived by: wife, Ruth Moseley Payne; children,
Karen Butler of Murfreesboro, Tillman Payne III of Annandale, VA; Myra
Jeannine Stokes of Spring Lake, NC; and James Payne of Jefferson City; 11
grandchildren.
Mr. Payne's remains are at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. His service will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the Turner
Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Jimmy Plummer and Rev. Fred Jenkins
officiating. Interment in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
There will be viewing at the Carthage Chapel on Monday from 12 noon until
4 p.m. followed by visitation from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and visitation at the Church on Tuesday from 12 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Mittie Mundy Brown, age 90, of Carthage, died Thursday morning, July
10, at the Smith County Health Care Center. She is survived by: son, Royce Mundy of Carthage.

Graveside service and interment will be conducted Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at the Martin Family Cemetery in Defeated Creek with Rev. Russell
