He was a son of James William Hoffman, Elizabethton. He was a Baptist. Mr. Hoffman was employed by the Washington County Highway Department. Lt. Col. Harry L. Darnell, 72, Gray, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at his residence after an illness of cancer. Lt. Col. Darnell was a son of the late Lemuel and Monnie Darnell. He retired from Tennessee Eastman Co., Kingsport, after 43 years of service. Lt. Col. Darnell served as commander of the Kingsport Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol for the past 27 years. He had flown for several years as a private pilot. Lt. Col. Darnell was a Primitive Baptist. Mrs. Dorothy Ann “Dot” Wilson, 76, 900 Antioch Road, Johnson City, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Wilson was a Washington County native and a daughter of the late Elbert and Nellie Fox Cole. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Wilson was an inspector at Volunteer Blind Industries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wilson. Survivors include two daughters, Delores Ann Patterson, Johnson City, and Patricia Sue Campbell, Jonesborough; one son, Charles R. Wilson Jr., Johnson City; several sisters; one brother; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dillow-Taylor was in charge.
