William Thomas Jacobs, 63, of Halls, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002 at his residence.
He was a brick mason.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Halls Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Garden.

Don Russell Holland
Friday, October 18, 2002

Don Russell Holland, 46, of Crossett, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock, Ark.

He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Dyersburg.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Charlie E. 'Bill' Radford

Charlie E. "Bill" Radford, 85, of Trimble died at Baptist Hospital in Union City on Friday, Oct. 18, 2002. He was a retired plant manager for Trimble Manufacturing, having worked there for 35 years. He was the son of the late Charles G. and Lalla McDavid Radford and was married to Pauline Park Radford, also deceased. He was a member of the Trimble First Baptist Church and a charter member of both the Trimble Lion's Club and the 89ers. Services were Sunday at Trimble First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.  Johnson Funeral Home of Newbern was in charge of arrangements.

Marion Atkins Jr., 79, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002 at his residence. He was a domestic worker. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of H.H. Hudson Funeral Home in Dyersburg. The Rev. Louis Hudson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery of Dyersburg.

Elder Ernest Ray Tharp Jr., 81, of Ridgely, died Oct. 10, 2002 at his residence. He was a retired farmer, a World War II veteran and a member and elder of C.O.G.I.C. Church. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Leon White officiating. Burial was in Citizens Cemetery in Tiptonville. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Etta Lee Henry, 80, of Greenfield died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at her residence. She retired as a grocery-store owner after more than 25 years. She was the widow of Ernest E. Henry and a member of Sidonia Missionary Baptist Church. Services were Sunday in the chapel of Curry Funeral Home of Dyersburg. Burial was in Newhaven Cemetery in Ridgely.

Graveside services were at 10 a.m. today in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William Dexter Corlew, 75, of Nashville, formerly of Bogota, died Monday, September 30, 2002.
He was a retired insurance salesman for Mutual of Omaha for 40 years, a member of Belmont Christian Assembly and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

A memorial service was held Oct. 3 at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Burial was in Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Pegram.

Joseph L. "Red" Tucker, 81, of Ripley, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at the VA Hospital in Memphis. He was a retired fruit-and-vegetable salesman and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Garner Funeral Home in Ripley. Burial will be in Ripley Memorial Gardens.

Hazel Mitchell, 87, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002 at Methodist Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.
She was a retired employee of Dyersburg Fabrics.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlie Halliburton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The widow of J.C. Mitchell and William Thompson, survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Pace of Finley and Anita Lumley of Dyersburg; a son, J.D. Thompson of Dyersburg; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sam Warren, Charlie Thompson, Richard Bradford, Alvin Thompson, Roger Thompson and Terry Bradford.

She was a retired employee of the telephone company in Washington D.C. and a was a member of Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at Yorkville Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Jowers officiating.  Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of  Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Tilley and Dr. Craig Strickland officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Mann officiating. J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home in Dyersburg is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
