Marilyn Michele Warden Smith, 46, of Knoxville, formerly of Newbern, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at her home.
She was an elementary school teacher in Knoxville and a graduate of Dyer County High School and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 2 at First Baptist Church in Newbern. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Amy Smith of Bethesda, Md.; a son, Ben Smith of Knoxville; her parents, Oscar and Wanda Warden of Newbern; two brothers, David Warden of San Pedro, Calif., and Gary Warden of Fort Stockton, Texas; three nieces; five nephews; several great nieces and nephews; a special friend for many years, Gary Latham; and friends Jim and Barbara Morgan and Walt Reynolds, all of Knoxville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

George Howard Irby, 79, of Cookeville, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired factory worker with U.S. Steel in Gary, Ind., a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school teacher and Training Union director. For many years, he also served as Brotherhood Association director for the Stone Association of Baptists.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Brother Tim Frank officiating. Burial will be in West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls community.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of John Tollett's Sunday school class at Stevens Street Baptist Church.

She was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Mac Daniels and the Rev. William Norman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.
Pallbearers will be James Prince, Jimmy Prince, Jerry Prince, Chris Burns, Larry Phillips and Bobbie Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Pierce, Dale Frazier, Allen Dudley and Clark Reagan.

Pearlie M. Qualls, 52, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was founder and pastor of Dyersburg Christian Center, a teacher with Dyersburg Intermediate Scholl and hosted a Monday night radio broadcast "Showers of Blessings" on WTBG FM in Brownsville. Services will be at noon Wednesday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Dyersburg with Bishop C.W. Gillespie officiating. The family will receive visitors at 6-8 p.m. today at H.H. Hudson Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

He was a retired attorney, was Benton County General Sessions and Juvenile Judge for 10 years, served as assistant district public defender in Dyersburg until his declining health and was a member of First Baptist Church in Camden. He was a retired chief investigator for the Dyer County Sheriff's Department, a member of the Northwest Tennessee Retired Law Enforcement Officers Association, retired chief warrant officer in the Army and Navy, received the silver star and bronze star medals, served in Vietnam and Korea and a was Baptist. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
