Marilyn Michele Warden Smith, 46, of Knoxville, formerly of Newbern, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at her home.
She was an elementary school teacher in Knoxville and a graduate of Dyer County High School and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 2 at First Baptist Church in Newbern.  Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy Smith of Bethesda, Md.; a son, Ben Smith of Knoxville; her parents, Oscar and Wanda Warden of Newbern; two brothers, David Warden of San Pedro, Calif., and Gary Warden of Fort Stockton, Texas; three nieces; five nephews; several great nieces and nephews; a special friend for many years, Gary Latham; and friends Jim and Barbara Morgan and Walt Reynolds, all of Knoxville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

George Howard Irby, 79, of Cookeville, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired factory worker with U.S. Steel in Gary, Ind., a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school teacher and Training Union director. For many years, he also served as Brotherhood Association director for the Stone Association of Baptists.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Brother Tim Frank officiating. Burial will be in West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls community.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of John Tollett's Sunday school class at Stevens Street Baptist Church.

Tossie Lee Gilliam

Tossie Lee Gilliam, 76, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Mac Daniels and the Rev. William Norman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg.

Pallbearers will be James Prince, Jimmy Prince, Jerry Prince, Chris Burns, Larry Phillips and Bobbie Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Pierce, Dale Frazier, Allen Dudley and Clark Reagan.

Pearlie M. Qualls, 52, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She was founder and pastor of Dyersburg Christian Center, a teacher with Dyersburg Intermediate Scholl and hosted a Monday night radio broadcast "Showers of Blessings" on WTBG FM in Brownsville. Services will be at noon Wednesday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Dyersburg with Bishop C.W. Gillespie officiating. The family will receive visitors at 6-8 p.m. today at H.H. Hudson Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

John William Derington

John William Derington, 55, of Brentwood, died Feb. 22, 2003 at his residence. He was a retired attorney, was Benton County General Sessions and Juvenile Judge for 10 years, served as assistant district public defender in Dyersburg until his declining health and was a member of First Baptist Church in Camden. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Camden.

Leona Woolfork, 95, of Selmer, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services will be at noon Saturday at Salem C.M.E. Church in Selmer with the Rev. Stanley Click officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Selmer. The family will receive visitors at 7-9 p.m. Friday at the  Jackson Chapel of Cosmopolitan Funeral Services.

William 'Bo' Bodecker, 80, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003 at his residence.
He was a special investigator with the railroad, attended Oak Grove Church of Christ and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home with Kenneth Westbrook officiating.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of  Johnson Funeral Home with Dr. Thomas Parnell and the Rev. James Combs officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors at 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Roger D. Avery, 44, of Ridgely, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003 at his residence. He was a farmer.
Services will be at 12 p.m. Monday at Ridgely Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Citizen Cemetery in Tiptonville. H.H. Hudson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive visitors at 11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Survivors include four sisters, Margaret Pearson, Jessie Mae Avery, Cora Avery and Linda Avery, all of Ridgely; and five brothers, C.L. Clark, Willie Sam Avery and T.M. Avery, all of Ridgely, James Louis Robinson and John L. Avery, both of Dorchester, Mass.

She was a retired owner and operator of a refrigeration and air conditioning service and a restaurant and trailer court and a member of Dyersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Graveside services were Saturday at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Olmstead Funeral Home in Heber Springs was in charge of arrangements.

He was a retired chief investigator for the Dyer County Sheriff's Department, a member of the Northwest Tennessee Retired Law Enforcement Officers Association, retired chief warrant officer in the Army and Navy, received the silver star and bronze star medals, served in Vietnam and Korea and a was Baptist. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Halls Funeral Home. Burial was in Halls Cemetery.

He was a hunting and fishing guide at Reelfoot Lake and a former member of the Tennessee Army National Guard.

Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Archie Larry officiating. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens.
