Juanita White “Nete” Johnson, 84, passed away Nov. 2. Member of Second Presbyterian Church. Survived by husband of 59 years, Frank R. Johnson; sons, Rob Johnson Jr. and Philip White Johnson and their families; sister, Sarah White Underwood. Gentry-Griffey Chapel.

Helen Darlene Miller, 43, passed away Nov. 3. preceded in death by father, James R. Miller, and brother, James R. “Bobby” Miller Jr. Survived by mother, Thelma Morton Miller; brothers, Gene, John, Michael and Terry Miller and their families; sisters, Pat Martin, Brenda Lane, Vicky Harrell and Jeanne Miller and their families. William E. “Bill” Murphy, 68, of Halls, passed away Nov. 6. Survivors include wife of 48 years, Shelba Murphy; children, Bill Murphy and Brenda Mullins and their families. Services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday at Fountain City Presbyterian Church where Mr. Murphy was a deacon and elder. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Katherine Fair “Granny B.” Burnette, 84, passed away Oct. 24 Member of Washington Pike Baptist Church. preceded in death by husband, the Rev. Charles B. Omie Mae Carver, 65, of Chattanooga, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Oct. 24. Member of the Baptist faith. preceded in death by husband, Dillard Carver; daughter, Patricia Evans. Elmo Carden, 85, of Edgewater, Fla., passed away Oct. 17. Marion Thomas Dossett, age 83 of Halls Crossroads died Thursday, Oct. 21. She was a member of Texas Valley Baptist Church and was employed by Knox County Schools for 53 years, serving food at Halls Elementary School. preceded in death by husband, William Robert Dossett.
