She graduated from UT with honors in 1975 and had a 25-year career with Bell South. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Halls. Roy Merrell Shockley, 74, formerly of Luttrell, passed away May 30. Mr. Shockley owned and operated a furniture store for 17 years and served as city recorder in the town of Luttrell. After moving to Nashville in 1966, he worked as a recording technician at several studios where he worked closely with artists such as Elvis Presley, Porter Waggoner, Dolly Parton and Jerry Reed. preceded in death by son, Michael R. Clarence Dennis Weaver, founder of Jiffy Drive Ins,, passed away June 2. He was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church, member of Oriental Lodge No. 453 F&AM, 32nd Degree Mason, member of Kerbela Temple, and past president of South Knoxville Lions Club. He expanded the historic Jiffy Drive Ins to 57 locations in 10 states before selling the business and venturing into real estate development projects. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris O.
