Iva Gene Mitchell, 75, of Heiskell, died Dec. 29 at Northhaven Nursing Center.
She was a member of New Life Assembly of God.

Trilma Evelyn Parsons Russell, 93, of Maynardville, passed away Declle in 1951.
She was a member of Midway Church of God where she wore many hats.
Member of Union County Retired Teachers Association, having taught 20 years in the Union County school system.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from UT in 1967.
After retiring, she and her daughters opened Trilma’s Day Care where she remained owner/director until age 85.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ivan Russell;son, Curtis Eugene Russell.
Survived by sons and spouses, Vernon “J.R.” and Berthalene Russell, the Rev. Dorothy Hall Shipe, 85, of Knoxville, passed away Dec. 30 at Hillcrest North.
She was preceded in death by husband, Eugene.

Loraine McCoy Snyder, 97, of Powell, passed away Dec. 30 at NHC Healthcare.
She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.
She and her husband, Harvey, owned and operated Snyder’s Grocery Store on Old Maryville Pike for more than 25 years and came to Powell in 1968.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her only son, Lt. Col. Alan E. Snyder.
Survivors include daughter-in-law, Jennie S. Snyder, three grandsons; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, James C. “Buddy” Day; sister-in-law, Viola Wood McCoy.

Dixie Craig Thigpen, 97, of Fountain City, passed away Dec. 31 at Asbury Acres Health Center.
She was a member of Church Street UMC and attended Tennessee Wesleyan College as a young woman.
She graduated from UTat age 61, and taught as a home bound teacher in Knox County.
Preceded in death by husband, William M. Thigpen; sons, William H. and Walter K. Thigpen.
Survived by son and spouse, Charles and Peggy Thigpen; daughter, Deanna Mitchem; daughters-in-law, Virginia and Marsha Thigpen; sister, Margaret Reeverts; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
